Game Over goes to QuakeCon (http://money.cnn.com/2005/08/11/commentary/game_over/column_gaming/) this week, looking at the unprecedented number of new hardware products that are on display for the first time at this year's gathering. Dell, nVidia, Creative, Logitech and more are all letting QuakeCon attendees be the first to test drive upcoming new products. The column looks at the reasons behind this - and the substantial dollars it can mean to the companies.

I suppose it's good for the industry. Though it reminds me too much of car shows and the like, which I don't find exciting. I'd rather just go play some games than stare at a video card I can't even buy for the next few months.

Consumer advocacy is getting to be quite the buzzword at my company. Looks like this is a really good shot at building some of that up.
Unfortunately, we don't have any insurance fanbois... :(
