Shacknews has posted 4 new screenshots of the upcoming Quake Games. There are 2 for Quake 4 (http://www.shacknews.com/screens.x/quake4/Quake+4/1/081105) and 2 for Quake Wars (http://www.shacknews.com/screens.x/et_quakewars/Enemy+Territory:+Quake+Wars/1/081105).

Hot Damn. Quake Wars looks to be shaping up pretty nicely.

You should look it up. I just found out about this game last week and it could be quite awesome.

I'm definitely looking forward to both. Barring horrible reviews, they'll be high up on my play list.

I love Raven!

Q4 plz don't suck! Bit thrown off 10/15 launch date? Xbox 360 is due out when?

The games look great don't get me wrong, but whats up, would the Doom 3 engine just implode or something if they made a sun-lit environment?

Oh no, I better leave a comment before the flashlight jokes start pouring in.

I think we have yet to see the true capabilities of the Doom3 engine, the question is will Raven be able to pull it off before the next round of engines come out (ie Unreal 3)?

Woah, look at the smoke in the first Quake Wars picture.
That's nuts.
Then look at the ground, haha, very bland.
But that smoke and the rocket's flame trail blending up into it looks awesome...

I would not be suprised if the Doom3 engine can scale up to the level of quality seen in the Unreal tech demos. They've always said the Doom3 engine should be able to scale and last much longer than any of their previous engines.

I think these all look pretty sweet. A friend of mine did note that the Strogg in the Quake Wars shot looks kind of like an Undead Rogue from WoW.

Quake Wars looks awesome. I always loved Enemy Territory, so I'm sure this will be great too.

Quake Wars:

Please do not suck. You need to not suck. If the game is awesome, no-one will care that the ground looks goofy.

Thanks

The ground does suck, along with the hills.

But it's an ET game, so rock on!

But will the technology be able to handle the logistics of a gun with a flashlight on it?

Yea that's right, I burned you Doom 3, can you feel that, I bet it feels like burn.

I'm with "thecrazyd".

Only replace "Sweet" with "Shit", and "love" with "hate" and its like mind theft.

Quake 4 looks really awful. I mean, where do they find these artists? I know people rag on DOOM 3s art, but go back and look again: the monsters may be a little cheesy, but at least they're atristically sound. These strogg look fucking Liefeldian.

Quake Wars looks amazing. Can't wait for that one.

I'm so glad they made these seperate games, so different teams could concentrate on their specific needs (singleplayer and mutliplayer are so sweet when they're seperate like this, see Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for another perfect example of this).

Quake 4 has its own multiplayer, just very runofthemill.

I thought Quake Wars was only going to look realistic, not play realistic?
