Today is the first day of QuakeCon 2005 where people will get the first chance to try out id/Raven's Quake 4 in multiplayer. For the people who did not make it over to Texas, you can check 2 shakycam, but decent quality, trailers showing off some initial footage from the game. Mainly the second trailer shows off some of the customization, one of the maps and several of the available weapons, such as circle saw, machine gun, hyper blaster, railgun, grenade and rocket launcher.

The rocket launcher looks familiar...
Edit: BTW, video 2 is just a clip out of video 1.

I think its retarded that the industry isn't just releasing these movies themselves from these stupid shows, because by now they should know it'll be "shaky camed" to the gaming public and mass distributed as if it's a real trailer. I mean the point of a trailer is to SELL YOUR PRODUCT, not like you'd be doing US any favors at all, so ya gaming industry smarten up, help yourselves here.
I agree, I always found that really wierd. But I'm no marketing guru.

What the fuck... this person got to play Quake IV, and he sat with his thumb up his ass switching weapons the whole goddamn time. It's a SHOOTER! Shoot the goddamn things! Let us see the weapon effects and particle dealies and shader whatsits. I don't want to watch you trying to climb a box for 15 seconds you bastard!

Looks pretty good to me. Appears that they're trying to bring the Q3 speed and style to the Doom engine, which is fine by me. Can't wait to see more/better videos of the single player game.

Yeah, sure, it's pretty...but I have to say, the differences graphically between it and UT2004 aren't groundshaking. Sure, it's got some nice normal mapping going on, but it looked like pretty much the same game to me *shrug*
