The Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk) is reporting that one quite determined Linux programmer has managed to get Doom running on an iPod photo.

While pundits ponder whether Apple's market-leading iPod music player faces imminent doom, tech-savvy Linux users are hacking colour-screened versions of the device to explore another kind of Doom - this time from ID Software.

Hard-working iPod Linux developer 'Kyle' has reworked Doom so that it will play on the device, albeit at an excruciatingly slow 3-4fps frame rate.

oh well, it runs on my nokia 6600 with a very decent framerate. has done so for almost 2 years in fact.

is there anything that won't be made to run doom? it's like the coming of age of an electronic device... it'll be the fridge, next. and then who knows? the toaster? the kettle?
