Exactly right. Though he is often an idiot, this particular tactic(backing up facts) is an excellent way to gain credibility with some. He points out that "OF COURSE" Mass Effect is fine. So that when he does have problems with another game he appears to those who do not know his entire history, as someone who may be onto something. 4 year old kids on school grounds do this, every Game Company does this, its normal activity. People are surprised because he normally does not do this. However, evolution of argument is within everyone's grasp. He is doing it now.

I still see him going down in FLAMES the instant he opens his stupid mouth about a new game though. I think most of us waiting for GTAIV know he will jump on it at some point, and we are prepared to laugh when he does.
