Vivendi announced today that it has signed a 10-year licensing deal with Ludlum Entertainment, the agency representing author Robert Ludlum who passed away in 2001, to develop games based on the writer's spy novels Bourne and Cover One.
Since Universal Studios has been sold to GE and is no longer part of Vivendi Universal, the deal does not cover the movie content, so don't expect Matt Damon to make his game debut just yet.

From What RainOfTerror says, it sounds as though we are more likely to get a book to game rather than movie to game translation. The movie and the book have very little in common. At least this is what I noticed when I tried to read the book (writing style not for me).

Thank God. The Bourne books are wonderful. The movies blow. Should make for some interesting games similar to Splinter Cell. Bourne is quite a bit more the super spy than Sam, though. He doesn't need any fancy gadgets. He just kicks ass.

I just can't see how this will properly translate into a game (from the book or movie, makes little difference in this case). But more power to them.

So far I have enjoyed the Bourne movies, I cannot wait to see the 3rd and last one when it comes out.
I have yet to read the books, but from several comments I have seen round the net maybe I should.
Problem is I can't put down my Tom Clancy right now.

No matter how bad the game's camera is, it will still be better than "The Bourne Supremacy"

The books (by Ludlum only) standalone by themselves. So do the movies (except for the shakey cam...geesh).
SPOILER: I'm glad the 2nd movied didn't follow the Hollywood cliche with the girlfriend. It was a good shock.

The books (excluding the woeful The Bourne Legacy by Eric van Lustbader, of course) are incredible. Please, please, please read them if you get a chance. They are infinitely better than the films, and I enjoyed the films.
I'm not sure a book-to-game conversion will work, though. It doesn't seem like the right sort of material for a moneymaking videogame available on Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, GameCube, GBA, PSP, DS and PC which it certainly will try to be.
Maybe I'm just too cynical after seeing franchise after franchise get raped for the profit of senior video game publishing executives, but I just don't think it will be done properly.
