What (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/news.php?aid=8982) the (http://www.gamearena.com.au/games/title/pc_precursors/index.php) gamers'hell (http://www.gamershell.com/companies/deep_shadows/229906.html) is (http://www.gameinfowire.com/game.asp?gid=1539) going (http://www.gamingheadlines.co.uk/previews/misc/pc/Precursors_960.html) on? (http://www.gameinfowire.com/news.asp?nid=6369)

This was announced at E3. Did you know? I didn't know. News never traveled slower.

"Precursors" leads the gamer into unexplored regions of space, where he can fly with huge battle ships from planet to planet. There will be hunts for blind passengers on board in large corridors or fights against boarding pirates, while outside of the space ship rockets and laser weapons are fired in stunning space battles. It will be more peaceful on planets where you can talk to different alien nations, but also must fight from time to time.

Acting as a still nameless Hero, the gamer overtakes the part to survive in a conflict between two dominating races. This part is only defined by the actions and decisions that must be made during more than 250 different missions. The professional dealer deals with goods or smuggles them, a brutal bounty hunter is notorious, the celebrated conqueror governs unknown worlds; many ways are possible in "Precursors."

It's an FPS Space Shooter / Trading Roleplaying Game..

only thing it's missing is interstellar football and some futuristic pod race and it'll cover pretty much every genre.

This is not a sequel to Boiling Point at all, a totally new game.

And yes it was already announced during E3 (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=25565).

On the other hand, Deep Shadows DID unveil a couple days ago that they are working on either an addon or sequel to Boiling Point (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=27255), depending what Atari decides to make it.

If only Boiling Point didn't feel so horrible. I wanted to like it, but the driving controls were awful, the FPS controls didn't feel at all right, and there were just too many little things that stopped me getting into it.
Vampire I played through until the raid on the Sabbat warehouse, but this I just couldn't get past the second mission.
Hope this next one, which does sound rather cool, fares better.

Well, they did release patch v2.0 just now, and at ~200mb I'd wager plenty of your concerns have been tightened up.
