Wow, if Half life 2 follows the doom 3 formula, then the expansion should make the first game look like shit in comparison.

I wonder what those stalker things were, they look mighty scary.
I wish i had a pet headcrab.

I wouldnt worry to much about the stalkers.
no really, they are those things at the end of HL2, they are drones.

It's all about those walking tanks in the citadel.
It's all on this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combine_%28Half-Life_2%29).

Unless STEAM sorts out that stupid login problem I won't be buying this.

Yeah, Valve showed off a lot with HL2 because there were so many physics and tech elements to show, but they've always been pretty tight-fisted with the story spoilers.
I'm glad to see that Alex seems to be featured a lot though. I really wanted a resolution to the story told in HL2, and what happens to her.
Maybe we'll even learn something about the Overseers and/or G-Man. . . I wonder if they even know wtf G-man is over in the Valve offices.

Is this going to be available in a retail box?
Is this going to be worth putting up with STEAM?
Glad to see very few if any future games are going the steam route.
Very effective DRM though!
I'm hooked already. I didn't realize how much I would miss those characters, but it's like a sequel to a great movie is coming out.

I've never had a single problem with Steam, myself, and it continues to work beautifully for me. I hope more games go that direction.
Definitely stoked about the add-on here, I had so much fun with the original.

If you have log in problems (i have, drive me nuts as im not always online) just shutdown steam, delete ClientRegistry.blob is the /steam/ folder, then start up and login. That should fix any anomalies.

Believe me when I say that this will NOT necessarily fix all your problems. (Well perhaps it will, since they have upgraded steam quite a few times since I had my problems with it. But it wouldn't have ALWAYS solved all your problems.) Either way, Steam works fine for me now and I will definitely have to get this expansion. Looks sweet.

You shouldn't need to be technically anything just to get a game to run.

Er, that's what he said. He said he's NOT technically inept. He didn't say he was technically anything.

Steam is a DRM masterpiece! I'm so proud of my time as a member of the Valve Police force.
HL2 was brilliant. 8 seconds after I finished I deleted it. Not sure I'm up for another tour of the STEAM POLICE.
In the real world normal folks are'nt that fond of STEAM. Here in the MATRIX I guess it's the cats ass. Did you like the girl in the red dress?

Yea, nice one. But all the technical knowledge in the world wouldn't get your game running when the account servers were hosed and you didn't yet have the option to play offline. They've fixed the major problems, but don't try and pretend they didn't exist.
Oh, and it's "inept".

It specifically said it was a teaser trailer. That's a lot more than you get from many teasers.

I'll buy it. HL2 was a good game- not the second coming in your pants that a lot of you make it out to be, but a solid FPS games, and one of the best ones to come out in the last few years.
What I wonder is how many art assets they'll re-use. I'm just conjecturing here, but I bet a LOT of HL2's 5 (or was it 6?) year development was art creation. The game's gorgeous, and not because of any fancy engine, but because there's some genuine fucking art crammed in there. It takes a while to create that though, and HL2 hasn't been out that long.

One question for the HL story freaks like me, Is that the G-man saying "we shall see" getting more angry in tone of voice? or is that just me, imagine you fight against g-man in aftermath, and gordon finally fucking says something cool, or anything at all.

It sounds like the G-Man, definitely.
I dunno if you'll really fight against him or not. It's still so hard to tell if he's a bad guy, although there's suggestions leaning both ways.
