Did anyone else notice the new video up for Overlord on XBL? I thought it was strange that they would post up a video so long after the games releases, so I downloaded it. It appears to be a sequel or addon to the first game, subtitled Raise Hell (I think...) - has anyone else heard of this?

Alright, I did a little more research online, and it turns out that Raise Hell is the name of the first downloadable content pack that they released on XBL. Not a new game or anything.

Sorry for the false alarm. ;)

Yes.

I'm afraid I have little to offer beyond that though. Overload has been on my 'I should probably get that sometime' pile since it came out.

Edit: Isn't is 'Raising Hell', rather than 'Raise Hell'?

Yeah, I remember this being talked about a while ago.

The game's now 40 bucks, but it was sold out at my local GameStop. I could have had a $25 used copy, but y'know, I gotta represent.

An add-on/expansion:
Overlord will out three downloadable content packs on Xbox Live. One pack is free and enables players to experience the game in a multiplayer split-screen mode; a new co-op map will also be included challenging two Overlords to work together in surviving “the onslaught of an arch rock giant on the rampage.”
The other two packs will cost you, but at this point neither have a price. One will offer five new levels for the single player campaign and the other offers a “legendary” difficulty level and multiplayer maps.

Info for the new single player content is here:

As far as I understand, Overlord: Raising Hell is supposed to introduce a new Abyss dimension to each of the game's areas, sort of a Bizarro World thing. This was supposed to be released in November, along with the free DLC pack that would add split-screen multiplayer and more maps to the game. According to Codemasters, Raising Hell will be released 'soon' which doesn't mean much.
As a matter of fact, I am replaying Overlord for the second time to get 100% corruption. Now if there's one thing I dislike about this game more than anything is farming for life essence. 1,000 essence for the helmet means at least 333 monsters to kill. Now this would've been fine if not for the silly minion AI that makes them stand and do nothing while being attacked. Overlord is a fun game, don't get me wrong, but it needs a solid patch far more than an expansion.

Two things...
A) If you want essence, use the dungeon to farm Beetles. Easy to kill, lots of essence.
B) If you are a bad person, there is a glitch you can use to cheat the game and make the armor cost less:
After crafting the preferred armor type, choose the "upgrade" option at the smelters. Put X amount of minions into desired item and immediately after you select the "FORGE!" option, push start and "Exit Game." When you reload, you should have the imbued effect with a much lesser loss of minions.
Make sure you exit the game BEFORE any minions jump into the smelter, if you exit too late, you will lose the minions anyway. Remember, for the ultimate armor set achievements, you must have at least two different minion types in the piece. Once you have a set fully imbued by using this glitch, equip said set and put a minion into any other piece of armor without using the glitch. After the "dummy" piece is upgraded normally, you should get the achievement.

Not sure... like a fool I did mine the hard way. God bless those bugs....
Once you have a good sword/armor, just leave the minions behind and wipe them out yourself

Didn't the game release at $40?

I haven't picked it up either, but I did enjoy the demo. I plan on getting it sometime in the next few months, along with Crackdown.

Karak - Sorry bud! :o

You need to kill about 350 bugs, give or take, to get enough essence for one (!) piece of armour. They spawn 25 at a time in your dungeon.

Definitely a very enjoyable game. My only gripe was I missed 5% somewhere in the game giving me 95% corruption, which means I have to play it through to the end again to unlock the achievement. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be up to it in the future. The new content looks fun.

Can't you load your last save game and use the Dungeon Heart to visit previous locations? Use this guide (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/932853/49211) to help you determine what you missed.

EDIT:
So it seems the PC version of 'Raising Hell' is already out in Europe.
