He's outta here (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/01/24/kucinich-getting-out/)
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Rep. Dennis Kucinich will announce he is abandoning his long shot bid for the White House in a news conference Friday, his campaign confirms to CNN.

Good. What a waste of time, money, and effort.
There is probably an owl somewhere that goes, "Ku-who? Ku-who? Ku-who?" They should have consulted that owl before starting.

I'm glad he's out, but its still depressing that a guy who got more votes than Guiliani still couldn't get into any of the later debates, or be noticed by the media except when he mentioned UFOs. Same with Ron Paul.

That's one of the things I hate about the presidential race this time around - there are so many candidates that they are skewing the results for those that actually do have a chance. These guys keep dropping out after each big primary, and then you're left wondering if Candidate A still would have beat Candidate B if Candidate Y had never entered the race.

Like Edwards. This dude is really just wasting time. I wonder if the Clintons are paying him to stay in.

Not only is it not clear he's helping Clinton and taking votes from Obama (in fact he may end up giving his delegates won from Hillary to Obama at the convention) but there's no doubt his participation is changing the nature of the heathcare debate, which is his main issue.

I'm not sure if that is sarcasm or not either, but I didn't quite mean him anyways. There are a lot of other candidates that are clearly wasting everyone's time, on both sides of the campaign.
I'm not a Democrat, but I do think Edwards is running a fairly strong campaign, even against Clinton and Obama.

Bit of a shame really. I think the reason he didn't qualify for the debates and such is because his mentally challenged brother died in the middle of his campaign trail, and after that he just kinda dropped of the radar and didn't meet his canvasing quota or whatever it was.

Not really, he's faltered at every successive turn since the first, and his opening shot was hardly massive to begin with. He's dwindling and at this point his bid is over barring something bizarre.

Ten imaginary dollars you're never going to (not) see again, that's for sure! It's a shame, I don't like Edwards but he's not explicitly abhorrent like Hillary.

Seriously as much as everyone on forums always say "Candidates suck as always, I don't like any of them", thats just not the case with most people. (http://www.gallup.com/poll/103846/Voters-Clamoring-ThirdParty-Candidacy-Year.aspx)
The survey of more than 2,000 adults was taken January 13-18, and showed 84% of respondents believe that there is at least one candidate running this year who would make a good president. Additionally, 72% reported that the current presidential candidates were talking about issues they really cared about. This is much higher than any other election in over twenty years. For the general public Democrats are happy with their choices, and the Republicans have enough candidates that someone at least should appeal to them.

It was just a matter of time, anyway. No big surprise that he quit it. I look forward to seeing who he endorses, though.
As far as Edwards goes, I'm not sure he ever truly believed that he could beat Clinton or Obama. Before the race's contenders were finalized he might have thought he stood a chance, but that couldn't have lasted for long. I'm pretty sure he's been campaigning to be the VP for a while now.
Damn. The funny this about kucinich is I think he's kinda creepy as a person but as a politician (they're all creeps) he is right on point with what I think. Idk, just proof that politics is just a popularity contest ran by the media and actual policy isn't really involved in the process.

Okay, I tried to resist, but I couldn't.
I seriously, really, truly, passionately hate Jeremy Piven. It's something about him not ever acting, and just essentially playing his arrogant, douchebaggy self in every role ever and then getting massive props for it. Screw you for daring to allow me to see his image in these forums.

Hey, I'm not saying the gray blob is necessarily a bad gray blob. It might be very good for what it is. Just bemoaning that lack of choice that democracy really ends up offering.

Well that's simple, you don't really have a choice. Unless your candidate is "in" per the party they're running for, they'll be abandoned by the media drones. You'll only get to choose between the most bland options available.

We have a woman and a black man as two of the most serious contenders in this race.
That's pretty revolutionary if you ask me. Neither of those would be described as a 'grey blob' if you were to tell somebody 50, 20, or even 10 years ago about them, I think.

Especially when you consider that the black man candidate has no interest in typical black issues, I think that's as revolutionary as anything since it makes him actually electable.

That is one thing a lot of people don't seem to get. The reason that neither of the other two black candidates that have attempted this have gotten anywhere near the support that Obama has is because they built their entire campaigns around race. I really haven't heard Obama mention race at all unless someone forces the issue, and I dunno, that's refreshing to see out of a black leader.

Sad. When I did the annual "Which Presidential Candidate Fits Your Views?" test-thing on NPR.com this year, Kucinich actually came up as the person who fit me the best. I'd never vote for him though, and I don't know why. I guess while his views match mine the closest, he just doesn't seem like he'd be a good leader, to me.
Anyways, if I were him, I'd probably stay home and "appreciate" my hot wife, too.

So they're gray blob with a new hat. Superficially, yeah, they're kinda new, kinda different, kinda exciting. Still the same gray blob politics, still representing the same old evil black blob interest groups.

NO!
Kucinich is far and away my favorite candidate.
I knew he wouldn't win, but it's still disappointing to see him pack up.
Edit - Fuck the haters. Laugh and joke about the guy all you want. The front runners are both sides aren't going to do shit if they get into office. I'm sick of all the pandering and popularity BS that we've been hearing for over a year now. I'd love to see a candidate who may actually do something about the obviously broken status quo. I doubt that any of the frontrunners are that candidate.
