OK, I bought a Wii a while ago, 6-8 months ago? Anyway, just recently there have been some weird glitches that appear in certain games in certain situations. usually looks like holes in the 3-D character it is rendering. The only games I've seen it happen in so far are Resident Evil UC and Super Mario Galaxy. Happens in the more 3-D instensive moments.

Considering that I've barely used this fucking thing, please tell me ti isn't an overheating issue...

Yeah left it in standby mode for a long period of time did ya? That's what happens I'm afraid, send it back and they'll sort it out.

Sounds like one. Is it well ventilated? Vertical? Have you updated?

This is a confirmed issue? That sucks. I'm glad I always make sure to turn it all the way off when I'm done with it.

I've never really understood why it has a standby mode. It looks off, but it gets warm and is obviously still doing something. What? What's the point?

Shit. Yeah, for months!

I guess it's time to contact Nintendo?

Orange, which allows it to operate WiiConnect24 for instantaneous updates. Red is off. Powering down with the Wiimote sends it into Orange/Standby mode. You actually have to press and hold the power button to hit Red/Power Down.

Don't believe the myth. Mine is always in standby mode and I haven't had any issues.

That happened to my Wii a mere 6 weeks after I bought it last July. The replacement hasn't had any problems yet, though.

Also, be sure to back up all your saves to an SD card before you send it back. And on the down side, all your Miis will no longer be editable once you get a replacement Wii, since they were tied to the original hardware. That irritated me quite a bit.

Everyone else, one year ago: "Durr, Perigon the Wii's aren't getting hot when left in stand-by, you so crazy..."
