I counted 17 new screenshots, along with 17 horrible captions.
Looks pretty good.

So why are they calling this Prince of Persia 3? I realize the crappy 3rd game was really called Prince of Persia 3D, but that doesn't change the fact that this is not the 3rd game in the series.

"I brood with generic angst" cracked me up, so I'd say 16 horrible ones :). Screens look pretty stylish, I still would rather have the less "edgy" style from the first game though.

Because it was a reinvention of the series rather then a continuation. It doesn't bother me that they are reusing the numbers.
Those screenshots don't really appeal to me, it still looks pretty gritty, but I guess it's not as over the top as PoP:WW... Still, I much much prefer the storybook style of SoT
And I do hope they tone down combat, combat isn't where the fun did lie in PoP:SoT or PoP:WW

Hmmm, these pictures don't look angsty enough to me. Barkeep! More angst!

More puzzels, less angst and steel g-strings! That's all I want.

I hate the Warrior Within tangent the series took. The angst-factor has been reduced, but still looks unbearable. Note to developers, eXXXtreme teen fury = badness.
Isn't this supposed to be a combination of the two Prince's alternate world-lines? The cool Prince and the sad goth one?

Except they ripped that off from Penny Arcade and they should be kicked in the nuts for stealing it.

But if you did that you'd have to kick have the internet in the nuts.

I desperately want to be excited about this one but Warrior Within quashed my ability to do so. I did end up buying it twice as I bought it brand new, hated it, traded it in. 8 months later I saw it for $20 new and picked it up as I knew what I was getting into this time and could just pretend it had nothing to do with Sands of Time.
Warrior Within is actually pretty decent from a game level (though the combat still sucks) as the platforming is incredible. Unfortunately there was too little of it. I never did mind that they were taking the story to a slightly darker place. It was how they did it that drove me nuts. If they drop the Godsmack (or whatever industrial band they have in mind for the music) and go back to something closer to Sands Of Time, I'll be happy.
You can have the combat and darkness, just do a good job of it instead of trying to appeal to the 13 year old boy who actually thinks that metal G-strings, power chords and combat over platforming is what makes a game badass.
We'll see if they disappoint us again and go for the 13 year old demographic or actually have a dark story told in a way closer to the storytelling of Sands of Time.

The fact that every single one of those screenshots shows the prince in stabby mcstabstab mode tells me that they are again failing to deliver enough of the awesome platforming I bought and loved the first game for. Even the first game had too much combat IMO, the second was ridiculous, and this one is sadly looking pretty damn similar.

I think Gabe is right, Ubisoft is really trying to ruin a good thing... I have a friend who works there and says marketing is to blame for this lame turn of a great platformer that was Sands of Time... Apparently "badass" sells, which I don't know about... He says the marketing team doesn't play games or get in real data or anything... But EXTREME and BAD ASS HEROS are what we gamers want....

I'm finding that while I'm working my way through Warrior Within, I can actually get into a groove with the game and start to enjoy it. Then that stupid raven king guy (whatever his name is) pops up and I have to spend far too much time trying to fight him and I get mad and stop for a week or so.
This is not the way a game should be played. I can even start to enjoy the fighting to a certain extent with the mewling cat creatures that populate all the levels, but the second a boss shows up it all falls apart.
I do really like the points where the Drakkar Noir (or whatever the big bad demon guy's name is) shows up. Granted, those points are pure platforming and are what the game SHOULD have been about. Sigh.

It seems to me that they are going for a more God of War type feel. Quite frankly I don't think that I will play another Prince of Persia since sands of time, sorry but I might be a teenager, but that doesn't mean that I smolder with generic rage

POP=platforming in my mind. I will play this game, I don't care how much generic rage is in it, nor do get offended by it. it will most probably have the awesome platforming with smooth controls and extremely eye-pleasing easy to pull off acrobatics, which is all I care.

The problem with WW was that they fucked the pacing all up. If I'm running through the levels doing fancy acrobatics I don't want to stop every other jump to fight someone, no matter how the combat is improved. Also, darkening the lighting made it harder to just run along and experiment with the jumps.

When I played God of War, I remember thinking to myself that it was what Warrior Within had tried to do but failed miserably at.
And yes, it's because they decided to smoulder with generic rage and metal ass-clamps rather than tell a story through the delicate art of jumping and swinging and running on walls.
I'll go play some Ninja Gaiden if I want to have combat in my platformer.
