View Full Version : New Game Idea: "the Beatles"

Gameplay all but identical to Rock Band, with with a different structure of progression. All Beatles songs, no solo stuff.
It could have in-game cutscenes, or footage from the several Beatles documentaries. Lots of humor.
Oh, and Harmonix would develop it. It'd sell a million, easy.

Good performances = Your teenage mother's throwing their bras on stage, ha.Yeah, but they were in their teens in the 60s. Now they are starting to gather their pensions, and their false teeth. But hell, a bra is a bra.
If they include LSD and a pound of weed with each copy, I'm in.

Throw in a groupie mode where you get a Fable 2-like "protected" or "unprotected" choice and you could be your own daddy!

As far as I'm concerned, anything with Harmonix involved is more than worth my moneys!

Haha, this thread is persisting as if none of the posters read the news.
I revived it solely to wave my e-peen around the EA forums...

I think you'd have to be a real Beatles super-fan to go for a full 40-track Beatles game. A premium DLC for RB2 would make a lot more sense.

Sounds like somebody's not in this game's target demographic. :)

Throw in some instruments that actually work, and I'd say you have a hit on your hands.

i think these rhythm game developers should capitalize on an opportunity to be a vehicle for indi artists, they should design their game in such a way so that you can purchase music seamlessly through the game with revenue sharing between the developer and the artist. say a dollar per song but get both the "rock band" version of it and a drm-free version for music players. they would make a metric fuckton of cash. They could also extend an invitation out to mainstream artists, pay them nothing up front for their masters but negotiate a revenue sharing model for downloadable content. The question is how do you handle distribution, do you make it so theres only a bare-bones number of songs in the game out of the box, or do you sell "artist editions" of your game that works seamlessly with other editions of the game and downloadable content. I think the idea is to get it so that the developers dont have to pay a ton of money in licensing fees and give them more leverage in securing content for their games. I bet theres thousands of musicians out there that put out quality songs that would be willing to split the bill on a DLM track or get a base fee for putting all their songs in a boxed copy.
I think the only flaw in this plan is that retailers would shit a brick if you came out with like 12 different skus at once for different artists, you cant just throw them in a cd rack like with regular music....OR CAN YOU?!
