What a great game, just right, this is the kind of game that makes me feel 12 again, absolutely brilliant, just became a new Level 5 fan.
Why can't more games be like this; a memorable cast, a noble task and fitting end where justice and light prevails clearly, instead of these cliffhangers and brooding anti-heroes, I think is my favorite game this year.
I want more games like this, are most factor 5 stuff as brilliant as this game?

This would NOT be a selling point for me! ;)

Jeanne was awesome. I bought a PSP just to play that game and was not disappointed.
I really like all the other Level 5 games I've played (Dark Cloud II, DQVIII, Rogue Galaxy). I am really looking forward to Professor Layton as well. Level 5 is also one reason I want to get a PS3.

One of these companies should have to change their name :)

What's the length on this type of game? Average time to completion?

Do yourself a favor and go play Dragon Quest VIII right now. It's decidedly old school, but it's done so well that it reminds you that games don't need to have innovation for the sake of innovation in order to be good.
I'd also recommend Dark Cloud 2 and Rogue Galaxy, but some people feel that the action RPG style as well as the dungeons get repetitive. I think they're great. And the first Dark Cloud is okay, but it is an early PS2 game, and it shows.
And remember that Professor Layton for the DS comes out next month. It's the first non-RPG Level 5 game to come out in the US, but it seems to be going over very well in Japan.

It took me about 40 hours to complete the main story line. After that there is still quite a few things that can be done, but I haven't had time for it. I remember someone saying they were at about 90 hours to finish everything in the game.
I also agree that this is a fantastic game. It was also the reason I finally decided to buy a psp. The only other level 5 game I have played is Rogue Galaxy and I also enjoyed that game, but not as much as Jeanne D'arc. I found the battle system in Rogue Galaxy annoying at times.

I think I put in around 60 hours into Jeanne, though there's more I can still go back to after the final boss.
As far as Level 5, yeah, they're awesome. I never actually finished either Dark Cloud, but I really need to go back and do that. DQVIII and Rogue Galaxy are both excellent.

During the brief time I played Blue Dragon, the only thing it made me think about was how much I would rather be playing DQVIII instead. Someday I'm going to go play through that game again, but there's no way I have the time for it right now.

I bought a PSP a few weeks back just for Jeanne D'Arc and haven't regretted it even a little bit. My only regret is I haven't found as much time to play it as I would have liked.

You're missing out on Dark Cloud 2. The photography, inventing, and city building stuff were an interesting addition to the usual random dungeon action RPG thing. The original Dark Cloud is similar, but doesn't have the level of polish that Level 5's later games have.

Well, being relatively broke and with kid #2 on the way, I've been digging back into my backlog a bit, so I have a feeling I'll get to it sometime soon. Being a gaming pack rat has it's advantages at times. :)

I bought a PSP last March, played it for a week, didn't touch it again.
On a whim, I bought Jeanne D' Arc, without having heard a thing about it.
From then on, I didn't touch a single other console (except my 360 for Halo 3 opening weekend, but thats it) until I beat Jeanne D' Arc. It was 3 months of pure gaming awesomeness.
That was my GOTY 2007

Yeah, I've practically started buying games thinking "Hopefully I'll get to this around when I retire."
