One of Liberia's most notorious rebel commanders, known as Gen. Butt Naked, has returned to confess his role in terrorizing the nation, saying he is responsible for 20,000 deaths.

Joshua Milton Blahyi, who now lives in Ghana, returned this week to face his homeland's truth and reconciliation commission, this time wearing a suit and tie. His nom de guerre is derived from his platoon's practice of charging naked into battle, a technique meant to terrify the enemy.

I read an article a year ago (sorry, I can't find the link) about warlord teens in Africa. One of the preteen warlords was shown with an AK-47, a machete strapped to his belt, and a teddy bear backpack filled with ammo. His name was 'Colonel Cut Them Down' which I thought was absolutely badass.

The biggest Fuck-nut of the last 30 years was and is Charles Taylor who is being tried for Crimes against Humanity in the Hague. Liberia was the original Back to Africa scheme, and is the first in a long series of disgusting and disturbing consequences of Manifest Destiny.

That being said I think there was a General Bad Ass not mentioned in the article. Liberia can be looked at as a study in Anarchy, but at least murderous bastards in that part of the world have snappy names.
