3 friends and I have decided to attempt the dreaded 4-4-48 Zelda challenge. Last weekend, a few college guys tried to do it, but Majora's Mask kept freezing, and they hardly started Twilight Princess before the 48 hours were up. Now, we are practiced, we have backup plans, and we are ready.
Streaming video of the event. (http://www.atomicgarage.net/2008/01/4-in-48-challenge.html) This will be streaming all weekend, so feel free to check in and maybe vote on whether we will succeed in our mission or not.
The games that we want to beat in the timeframe are:
1. Ocarina of Time
2. Majora's Mask
3. Windwaker
4. Twilight Princess
Any other questions should be answered through the link.

What exactly is this challenge? the only google hit I get is for this thread. Obviously I'm assuming it's playing and beating some combination of Zelda games within a 48 hour time frame, but which games exactly are you including?
nm, looked at your link. Keeping the initial text for posterity.

Their playing all 4 3d zelda games with the goal of beating them all in 48 hours. Quite a feat.

Chrono Trigger can be beaten in like, 4 hours. No joke.

Don't you spend close to 48 hours with all that reading on disc 2 of xenogears? I mean, they have save points during the reading for christ's sake!
Oh yeah, ad good luck! I'll try to keep an eye on it throughout the weekend, except Twilight Princess, I still haven't beaten that game <_< >_>

At least what I'm watching now is more entertaining than whatever is on TV, except Monk and Pysch, you've got nothin on those shows.

Miss the part where there's a streaming video feed of them doing the challenge?

No, I'm watching the live feed right now. Granted they aren't doing the challenge yet, but it's still something to do.

Oh, haha. I don't really see how it's entertaning, though, seeing how you can just play the games yourself.
Good luck, though.

Don't forget you have to beat the Master Quest too. Otherwise it doesn't count.

Just about an hour till we start! I may make occasional status reports for anyone who doesn't want to check the video stream too often. I'm debating whether I should just add onto the OP, or simply add new posts onto the end.
EDIT. I just added a poll. That makes three polls for this event, how fun!

My brother and I years back wanted to beat OoT within twelve hours. We did it in about seven. This whole challenge depends on how well they know each game. I figure WW could be done in about seven hours as well. I don't know about MM, as I haven't played that in years, and I've only played through TP once. Are there any estimates on how long it will take for each game?

Keep in mind you can fight lavos when you first reach the time sanctum.
it's HARD but you can do it.

We are making good time! We are one hour and 40 minutes in, and clearing through Jabbu Jabbu at the moment. After reaching Zora's domain, I swapped the controller off to Binh, so I'm free to post. It's good too, as I was starting to get fatigued from massive amounts of Zelda.

I'm about to start playing, since I was the only one willing to face the Water Temple. We are just about halfway through OOT, and there is still plenty of fight left in us.

Theyre on to WW and going strong.

I wanna see some proof.Actually, you can beat Chrono Trigger VERY quickly if you've already finished the game and are using a New Game + file. You can fight Lavos right off the bat and kill him if you're strong enough.

The vid sucks right now. All you can see on the tv is a brightness, you can barely make out what is even going on.

You should tell us when you're trying again though, because it was entertaining to keep track of your progress.

I would have thought that was the idea behind doing the challenge with friends; I know I couldn't stay up for 48 hours straight.

Well, we didn't beat it, but we know where we went wrong, and we know how to fix it. It was a blast having the two webcams and the chatroom, so that everyone could make comments. We will be doing it again in the coming weeks, and will have much more practice under our belts for the next occasion.
