View Full Version : PS3 XMB defaults

This has been bugging me for almost a year and I've finally decided to try and do something about it.

When I boot up my PS3, the XMB defaults to the "game" category...then it defaults to one of the demos I've downloaded...changes the background and starts blaring the theme music.

What I would like is for the PS3 to boot up and remain "neutral" in terms of presentation. Basically, don't load up the demo stuff.

Has anyone had any success at this? I've "Googled" around and encountered others asking a similar question, but without replies. I've dug through the option menus, but nothing seems to stand out to me as the solution. I have a feeling I may have missed something easy.

That's a pain in the ass, but an easy fix is to just organize your demos into folders.

Agree with Gorvi

Each PS3 'game' can be assigned to an 'Album'. You can then group the Games listing by 'album' and it will group your demos.

It is a bit of a pain in the ass, but it prevents the BLARING music that shares the shit out of everyone in the room.

Perfect...sometimes I just can't see the obvious solution.

Thanks.

Don't feel bad. It isn't obvious.

Assigning a game demo to an 'album' is hardly intuitive. Not to mention you have to both set it on the 'information' section of each item, and then also set the game section to display 'by album'. It works, but it does not make a lot of sense.
