Halo3, lost two days of progress-- a bug?

I played Halo3 the entire weekend on my Xbox 360, had nearly finished the game. I put in the disc last night to play and it took me all the way back to where I was before the weekend. WTF!

I got pissed, went into CoD4 instead to play some online action and a guy was there complaining he had lost all his progress over the weekend in CoD4-- like it never happened.

Anybody have any explanation for this type of problem-- and is there any way to get my damn progress back??

The CoD4 issue is definitely just a random glitch. It actually happened to me this weekend as well. All you need to do is restart your 360 once or twice and the problem fixes itself.

I'm guessing the Halo issue is the same kind of thing. Just the 360 skipping over or not noticing a particular save file or code or whatever. I'm sure it's all fine.

When you say it's all fine, do you mean if I reboot a couple times it might find it-- or all fine that it shouldn't happen again but extremeley rarely. I'd like to get my progress back. :\

Did you just select continue campaign? This happened to me once, many moons ago. When I went into the campaign setup menus, I was able to load up the advanced levels and play them just fine. You will have to start at the beginning of the level though, it won't remember your last checkpoint.
