IGN (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/845/845819p1.html?RSSwhen2008-01-16_045300&RSSid=845819) is reporting that, leading up to the release of the new Bionic Commando game, we'll be seeing a remake of the original game, in full 3D, coming to the PSN and XBLA.
The latest issue of Famitsu has a first look at Bionic Commando: Master D Revival Plan, a 3D remake of the original Bionic Commando (known in Japan as Hitler's Revival).

Aside from the 3D visuals, the game promises to maintain the flavor of the original title, which presumably means pure side-scrolling gameplay. Capcom is adding a simultaneous two player mode, secret areas, and some elements that will connect the classic title to the new full 3D Bionic Commando.
Right now it's slated for a Spring Japanese release, but more likely than not we'll see it around the same time.

Now this is pretty cool, it'd be nice to see this with more franchises that get revived after a long hiatus.

Very cool.
Will they be able to keep the Hitler end boss?

If it's the original then this would be the assy arcade game, not the NES one everyone loves and remembers.

a simultaneous two player mode

And how, pray-tell would that work, exactly?

Is Hitler still the last boss? Inquiring minds need to know.

Yep, I'm really interested in this. I'm surprised Capcom didn't announce the remake first in order to build momentum for the announcement of the new game, as they did with Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix before announcing that they were actually working on a brand-new game in the series as well, in the form of Street Fighter 4.

I don't think they figure BC as a primary franchise.
The Interest in the sequel probably brought about the remake.

Pretty cool, I hope this sell very well so we can see more from Capcom, like a full 3d captain commando, or some remakes of SEGA franchises, like full 3d Sword of Vermilion or Kid Chameleon.

I hope they stick with the original level progression in this remake.

Where is my Mega Man 9 PSN release CapGods, also where the hell is Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo! It's been quiet for a while about that one.

My thoughts exactly. I hope they are bringing the NES version.

If it turns out like the Prince of Persia game, I'm there.

That was very well done. I tried the original compared to the updated version, and just love the updated version a whole lot.
