A sequel over ten years in the making, can Sega's NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams overcome the high expectations of fans and the negative association of the Sonic Team name? Get the official Evil Avatar opinion (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42198) with our review. Here's an excerpt:
Because of the wide variety of possible objectives, the levels jump back and forth somewhat wildly between super-easy, pass-in-one-try experiences to controller-shakingly difficult. Chief among the game's problems is how it makes you replay notoriously long key levels if you can't figure out how to beat up the boss at the end right away. For most of the game and most of the bosses it isn't a problem, but when it happens numerous times on the difficult-to-defeat-for-stupid-reasons final boss, most players aren't going to be very happy. Hard levels such as the aforementioned final boss are made all the more frustrating when you realize that the main reason they're so tough is because the game does an awful job of explaining how to play.
