Another year, another week in which comics won't be in stores until Friday. Come on and join the discussion here (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42051). Want to know what's going to be in stores this week? Check out Diamond's New Release List (http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_010408.txt).
Picks of the Week
Teen Titans Year One #1 - A modern retelling of the origins of DC Teen Team Supreme. Karl Kerschl is one of the more underutilized talents in the industry today, and I can't wait to see his take on the original Titans.
Thunderbolts #118 - Warren Ellis has at least 4 books coming out this week, but this is the one that I'm most interested in. His Thunderbolts has been good but not quite great. While the delays haven't helped (this is only the 8th issue since January '07) it constantly feels like it's on the brink of something big.
End League #1 - Rick Remender has quickly become one of my favorite "indie" creators. And he's come up with one of the best concepts for a comic I've read in a while. A merging of The Lord of the Rings and The Dark Knight Returns, The End League follows a cast of the last remaining supermen and women, all familiar archetypes, as they embark on a desperate and perilous journey through a world dominated by evil, in hopes of locating the one remaining artifact that can save their world - the Hammer of Thor.
Question of the Week - Face it, we all have a soft spot for a loser character. A D-list hero. A minor supporting character. A lame villain. For whatever reason that character just connects with us. So this week I ask - Which minor character(s) do you have an affinity for?
Plus, the Funk Doctor joins forces with the Tiger Men to give you the best of 2007 in comics (http://www.podshow.com/shows/?mode=detail&episode_id=92920).
