Various websites including Xbox.IGN (http://xbox.ign.com/) are reporting (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/638/638437p1.html) that the pre-order incentive for The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is a limited edition reprint of The Incredible Hulk #1.

...the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby 1962 classic where the legend began. The bonus book will sport exclusive new covers from artists James Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, and Paul Mounts.

Release Date: 08/23/2005 (PS2 (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/257128.asp), XBOX (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/255771.asp/) & GCN (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/257094.asp).)

Uh...that's an incentive? I read, collect and love comics but a giving a reprint with a new cover is a pretty lame incentive.

Ok, so for the Ultimate Spider-Man game that's due out on September 13th (*cough* My birthday! *cough*) why not have a limited edition comic that contains a new story and art by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagely? Now that's an incentive if they are going use comic books as means to get pre-orders.

Well... they were going to offer the movie... but then realized the comic would be better.

In all fairness to giveaway incentives, I think that Batman: Sun Tzu game had a great idea of giving away action figures with thier game. Too bad the game sucked. But this Hulk Destruction game looks awesome and the demo I played was tons of fun! I'd pre-order this game to get a free Hulk action figure, so long as said figure's fists were at least twice the size of its head. A $3 comic? Meh.

Ya, a $3 comic that isn't very good... I know a lot of other comic people might jump on me for this, but I don't read anything written before 1995. Stan Lee narratives give me a head-ache.

EDIT: Oh, and as for good pre-order stuff... My Ninja Gaiden wallscroll is pretty sweet.

I'm interested in seeing the Conner art. She's doing some really great work with JSA: Classified and I'm just sort of interested in her take on the Hulk. Also, owning a copy of Hulk #1 would be fine too, I guess.

Doubt it would really be worth $3 back then at least. If it is now... well, it shouldn't. Either way.

As for Lee's writing, it takes some serious getting used to. But nothing written before 1995? You're missing out on most of Frank Miller's best work, not to mention a ton of great Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman stuff...
