World of Warcraft 1.6.1 Patch

Blizzard has released the v1.6.1 patch file for their MMORPG, World of Warcraft. The patch is available through the in-game auto downloader.

General
- Spell casting is no longer interrupted when leaving combat.
Warriors
- Improved Shield Block - Fixed a bug where Rank 3 of the talent was not granting the extra block.
- Bloodthirst - Damage bonus increased to 40% of attack power.
Items
- The Oil of Immolation effect is no longer affected by bonuses to spell damage from items.

Interesting, I spec'd Fury with my Warrior on the last patch, and I really felt Bloodthirst had a lot to be desired... Perhaps this will be the droids I was looking for... Move along...

Hunter patch is the next real patch. This was a fix-it patch.

Alts are not content. I shouldn't have to slog through the same 1-60 grind again as a different character to be able to do something different. WoW lacks end-game content.

Where to begin? "1-60 grind"? I guess you liked that "slog" the first time..? Masochist?

Also, having played 17 alts, basically every combination of race/class to 30-35 each, I can tell you at least the first 30 levels (of slog?) can be very, very different from each other. If you played Alliance, play Horde. If you played a caster, try a melee. Your notion of the game being the same for every class/race is simply nonsense. If you think it's a slog, why bother playing at all?

Damn shame they fixed my oil of immolation. couple hundred damage every 3 was nice from a throw-away potion.

Anyway... yeah, getting to 60 ain't a chore. And if you've only played one character alliance or horde, you're missing half the damn game. (well more like 35-40%, because the last 15 levels have alot of samey content, but i digress)

Raid content, are you kidding me? THREE whole raid zones, with one of them basically being a single encounter, unless you are going to try to argue to me that the elemental invasions are something actually rewarding to the raiding crowd. PLUS, two of those zones have been around since release and trivilized by anyone who fell for the promis mister bittes made about the game begining at 60.

You like wow? that's awsome, it's really a great game. It has plenty of content 1-60, plenty of original pvp content, and even some great things to do post grind. just please don't pretend there are oddles of raid encounters for players, as it has become somewhat of a sorespot for raiders and anyone who followed the raid game since beta
