This is another good example of a demo that will determine whether or not I buy this title. I'm interested in the title but I usually don't like straight up FPS games all that much. Hopefully there is enough interesting things in this to grab my attention.

I'm on the edge of upgrading and strangely enough this demo may push me over. Oblivion is the other game that I'm excited about. Still, my good ol' Radeon 9800 Pro has been doing so well for years now. I may just see if I can hold on until early next year.

I know my computer will be able to handle this beast, but I'm not as excited about it as you guys are. I wasn't terriblely impressed with the gameplay videos I've seen. But I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have a blast playing the demo, because I loves me my first person shooters!

After seeing the trailer for this, I am excited as hell to see the demo.
I'm the opposite. I've been relatively intrigued--despite my dislike for "realistic" shooters (read: anything without a heavy dosage of rayguns and Bug Eyed Monsters) and general *meh* attitude toward horror--by all the media released up until the 11 minute trailer that hit this week. Turn a corner, shoot a guy, climb a crate, jump through a window back into an area you were just walking along the floor of... Whatevs.

I hope the demo is fun. I've enjoyed the hell out of Shogo and AvP2 (but not NOLF and I just can't get into TRON2.0, despite my burning desire to), so I want Monolith to succeed so we can get Shogo 2 someday.

I love the premise of Japanese-style horror meeting first-person shooter sensibilities.

I have to agree with Wadmaasi. I still haven't seen anything in the gameplay that makes me leap for joy and scream "The FPS Messiah is Heah!!!". Same old machine guns, same old "splinter cell suit" enemies, same old bullet time. I'll d/l the demo just like everyone else, I just wish ANYTHING would come out that felt as fresh and unique as Half Life 1 did when I spun it up the first time...and second...and third.

Well, from looking at the 11 min. demonstration vid, they say DX8 cars were kept in mind. I imagine it will take advantage of DX9, but be scalable to DX8.

Now I feel like a bit of a sucker for preordering. The MP demo was fun and a great pre-order incentive, but I assumed that further demos, etc. would also be for people who pre-ordered only. If I'd known a SP demo was on its way for free I might not have pre-ordered. No harm done though, since I was going to buy the game anyway.

Uhm I was qouting the guy from MONO during the E3 demo. You can hear it yourself by downloading the vid.

At least I'll get to see exactly how much my Ti4600 sucks. Funny how well it ran HL2,D3,Farcry,LOCK ON etc. The only folks who blocked me out were BF2.

Yea I'm gonna upgrade but demos like this at least show me exactly why I should upgrade.
