FYI, if you are (still) eligible for the 10% discount w/ Amazon on ordering Blu-Ray/HD-DVD movies, it takes the 10% off of the price before discounting the second title. IE, you order 2 at $20 each brings total to $40 - 10% = $ 36 - $20 = $16 total for both movies. Not too shabby. :)

It's kind of ridiculous how often Blu Ray movies are on sale 2 for 1, when HD DVD movies apparently never go on sale. Do the HD DVD people really wonder why they're being outsold in terms of movies?

Including movies with a new player isn't the same as having a BOGO free deal every 7-10 days, and a selection of so-so movies up to 45% off is a pretty piss-poor promotion by comparison as well.

At least they have a decent selection of movies for this deal. I just did the "5 Free Movies for Buying a Blu-Ray Player" deal for my PS3 and the collection of movies sucked, quite frankly. :(

actually for the most part Hd-dvd has been doing the bogos right next to bluray on amazon. only the thanksgiving and this one there hasnt been any.

This is actually a good deal but I think there's a good reason as to why we are seeing deep discounts on blu-ray stuff such as movies...and games.

I wish it wasn't so, but almost every lightning deal or special one day discount I've seen at various sites have been for PS3 games or Blu-Ray movies. Either Sony is making it easy for them to discount it or the retailer is forced to because the product is just not moving.

I dunno. Speculation.
