Pretty damn amazing. Someone created a version of Wolfenstein (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/277/27767.html) for a TI-83 Graphing Calculator.
No it's not one of those slow and unplayable basic games. This is a real-time 3d-raycaster based on the game by id. Also includes an on-calc mapeditor.

Sweet. I remember when I got Monopoly back on my TI-83 and I thought that was amazing.
Thanks [H]ardOCP (http://www.hardocp.com)

Do you think once this achievement was complete the author masturbated and cried himself to sleep, or choked to death on Doritos while watching Deep Space Nine reruns?

I've still got my TI83 from my high school days. Strange, I used it so often back then that I got to know all the quirks about it, just some hacks and short cuts that made all the difference during the exams.

btw, I believe some of the new kickass programs can only run on more recent versions of the TI83. Ancient models like mine have poor frame rates for anything more advanced than Tetris.

Well, at very least this guy improved his programming skills, so something productive came out of this. Personally, I admire this guy's achievement for the achievement's sake. Like, for example, the human powered airplane, the fact that this 'game' has been made is an impressive feat in and of itself.

Nothing wrong with Deep Space Nine reruns.

It takes a certain kind of "super nerd" to come up with stuff like this.

Hey justin, do you realize you've posted 169 times on this gaming site alone?

One day you'll come to grips with your nerdiness in therapy. It will be a beautiful moment, full of weeping and hugging and Klingons,

Not so amazing once you realize that even Descent was ported to the TI-83 and looked crappy while running crappier.

Yeah, I heard about Doom being ported over in school this past year. Never saw it myself , but I bet it was really wolfenstein and none noticed. Also ever notice that the price of the damn thing never drops?

the sweetest doom port is doom on a cellphone and doom on a pda pad, so i can pretend to be the doom 3 marine with his pda's and play doom omgz.

If only the calculator had speakers so we could hear the German curse words or whatever the enemies used to yell.

Can the Ti-85 run this? No, really?

It should, since the 85 is the higher end model.

I wonder what happened to my 85? I remember spraypainting it gold for some reason.

Comparing a port of a twelve year old game to a human-powered airplane is like comparing the Sistine Chapel to a bunch of spitwads scattered about a junior high school's drop ceiling.

No, because they run on different version of the Z80 processor.

i installed this game onto my ti-83 plus. It was auctually surprisingly good. The 1st FPS for graphics calc that auctually runs smoothly.

Too bad for the graphics, and also the very stupid A.I. but i suppose thats staying true to the original wolf.
