Xbox 360 Dashboard Update - Slight Bug

I just was notified by an Microsoft Team Member of a slight bug in the latest dashboard update:If you change the Live ID associated with your gamertag (as the Dash update allows you to do), you will lose all of your (Xbox.com) forum posts, CUL and icons. All your posts will appear as ‘anonymous’. We’re hard at work on a fix, but despite the team working on it all weekend, we don’t have a fix ready to go out with the update.

If you are particularly attached to your Community User Level or forum icons please DON’T change your Live ID until we deploy a fix. It should only be a few days, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We will let you know as soon as it is safe to change your Live ID and keep all your forum goodness.

The divx/xvid support, better games browser, and improved XNA stuff make this update great for me, and the Friends of Friends/XB originals stuff is good for other people.

One glitch in the service/forum integration is not that big of a deal...

I don't think this is the only bug.

I have tried twice to download Indigo Prophecy, the first time the download finished and instead of "download complete" I received "Can't Download..." the second time absolutely nothing happened. Psychonauts has been downloading for about four hours now, and it is less than fifty percent done. I guess this could be the servers getting slammed with people downloading, but damn.

Also for some reason both Conan and Mass Effect had be booted twice before they recognized I had save games on my drive.

A thought here is that my drive could be dying, which I hope to Christ is not the case; it's a two week old 120gb. I would be exceptionally pissed if it turned out to be going bad on me.

its been smooth sailing for me, the guide/dashboard seem to run quite a bit nicer.

the only issue i have had is in mass effect, i talked to a character and the conversation tree didn't come up, but of coarse that would just be the game.

Does anyone know if the Fable is the original, or the later release with the extra content, I think it was called Fable: The Lost Chapters? I don't like the way it is only ever referred to as Fable,and I'm not going to buy it unless I can be sure.

That way the followup update could not only fix the bug but also eliminate the unnecessary message.

that it totally corrupted every single goddamn regular Xbox game save I had on my 360.

How about that shit? That includes the Burnout 3 game my son and I had been playing. Now I have to try to explain to a three year old why all of the cars (and I'm talking damn near all of them) we unlocked are gone and that we have to start over on a brand new save file?

This unannounced and totally cockfucked update side effect destroyed hundreds of hours of playtime my son and I spent together.

A big FUCK YOU to the 360 QA team on that one. Mother fuckers. :mad:

I had alot of lag issues last night and it wasn't my connection. I hope thats all fixed so I can resume my gaming. Other than that, did anyone REALLY like how fast the blades move? I really hated it, I felt like I was being rushed.

I couldn't figure out how to get the Friends of friends browsing working. I select EvAvFriends in my friends list, but there is no FoF option....

Once you click on a friend you need to take a second step. I think it's the profile tab, but I can't remember for sure. Once their it say's, "Friends of ..." or something similar. Good luck. It's pretty cool. Wish it went more than 1 level, but it's still cool :)
