Joystiq has the scoop (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/28/boom-boom-rocket-update-live-joined-by-five-free-tunes/) that Xbox Live Arcade title Boom Boom Rocket has gotten a fresh new patch along with 5 new tracks to download for the low low price of free (until December 16th).

* "Eine Kleine Rochtmusik"
* "Cannon in D"
* "Sugar High"
* "Sting of the Bumble Bee"
* "Explode to Joy"

FINALLY! Can't wait to check these out.

Any idea how we access the DLC?

I've tried all the obvious places (in-game, and under Boom Boom Rocket on Marketplace), but I'm not seeing a song pack..

Yeah, apparently it's not out yet? (According to comments in the Joystick article... no one can find it)

I wish I had read the comments BEFORE purchasing the game. I was on the fence about it for a while now, but the free songs pushed me over the edge. I grabbed the game, and started it... and still only the 10 normal songs, and no sign of the new stuff.

I hope they aren't wrong about this, and it's made free/released soon.

Looks like I'll probably be purchasing this now as well. I love rhythm games but the limited songs in Boom Boom Rocket made me not thing it was worth the price. I'm very happy to see that they decided to put these out for free.

At first I kind of regretted my decision to get Boom Boom Rocket...it was kind of simple and a lot of EvAvers seemed to be really disappointed with it.

I'll be damned if it didn't become pretty much my favorite XBLA game, though.

In addition to supporting dance mats and fake guitars, we've found that the game also works with Rock Band's drum set, yielding an activity both challenging and utterly embarrassing.

Maybe Harmonix will do a drum and guitar controlled 2D platformer next.

Somehow I couldn't get into this one. I like E4 (bought it), but this one just doesn't do it for me.

Free stuff is nice, however, for those who own the game.

It's still not out in the US, either.

Supposedly it comes out today, but it seems like it should have been released, by now.

Seriously! There's no excuse for why Sega hasn't put that on LIVE yet. I would play the hell out of it.

Well, it's officially the day AFTER they said it would be out... and it's not out.

Guess they got me... purchased it, assuming they would release the content. They better not back out of it now. I know EA has a hand in this game, so I wouldn't doubt if they delayed it, then it ends up not being free, when finally released.

This is kind of annoying though. I want more songs, they taunt me with more songs, then they don't deliver new songs!

They're out now.

All five songs are on a tier above the old set in terms of both difficulty and song quality.

I'm currently #1 on the overall Medium leaderboard, and #2 on both Easy and Hard. (The new set has its own leaderboard.)

I'm not sure how I feel about the new songs. I agree about the increase in difficulty. I'd say that the songs on Easy are on par with the old ones on Medium.

The new songs are very guitar driven and that's fine, but I miss the more techno/ambient feel to most of the older songs... Sigh.
