IGN is reporting (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/637/637445p1.html) that Tecmo has confirmed a fatal frame sequel on next-gen consoles (possibly the xbox 360 and the ps3)

Either master the mechanics or use a cheat code so that you can't die and invite a bunch of people over to play through the game's creepy storyline.

PC gaming in Japan is pretty much a small niche market. Whilst shopping for a new PC recently, I told the staff at a number of shops that I wanted the PC for gaming. When they asked what kind of games, I mentioned Half Life 2 and Doom 3. They had no idea what I was talking about. Then there was the time a few years ago when I was trying to buy a gaming PC at a PC store and the helpful staff member told me to buy a PS2 instead.

yeah i know the pc gaming scene is pretty dead in japan...but only because theres no japnese-interest titles (such as fatal frame , i might add) at all for the platform...all we got are crappy ps2 ports that have 4 or 5 more polygons and are hard to find .

But, Fatal Frame 3 sounds good. I would like it if they made it more like you had to try and run from ghosts, and maybe even hide, as that camera obscura could be fairly powerful, and also get rid of the survival part.

Mircrosoft says its actually 4.5 billion /year once you count online sales, and mmo transactions , which are a major part now.

I agree. Even though I played through that game with two of my friends, it still scared the absolute shit out of us. Mainly because of the simple things, like the physically harmless ghosts of babies in the school. The sequels have done a pretty good job at continuing the psychological feeling, but the original will always stand out as the best in the series, simply because it was so original and fresh at the time.
