Damn, ten bucks for puzzle quest. I am temted to pick that up even though I seem to be the only person in the world who didn't like that game.
It really bugged me that I didn't like that game too, as I was very excited for it and pretty much the only person who had even heard about it.

For those interested, The Darkness (http://www.amazon.com/2K-Games-The-Darkness/dp/B000HX1P72/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_text_b) is also on sale for $20.
The "buy this item with something else" link tipped me off...I could get both Bioshock and The Darkness for the price of a single 360 game...before shipping, of course.
I might actually do that...

Yeah, I've heard that so much. Thing is, I don't like Bejeweled. Plus, I've got so many PSP games to play as it is, I really don't need another. :(

I'd gotten my friends remotely interested in playing Guild Wars again, and lo and behold, they have it for $10 and Eye of the North for $20. I picked up two of the first and one of the second -- for a friend who's played with me on and off since the beginning.
I'm still waiting for the promised Wii games, though.

For those Puzzle Quest fence sitters, try the PC demo. It should give an accurate representation of the game and its mechanics. While I am not an avid fan of Bejeweled, PQ did a great job in keeping my attention.
Now where is my PC version.

I know most games are retailing for $60+ on the 360 when they're new, and those are three very fine games, but I still have a hard time seeing anything over $25-30 as any kind of good deal.
I don't know...even with such solid games, it hurts me to spend that much. Hurts bad; and I own all three, as well. That's why I usually wait for a drop to the under $30...preferably under $20. Sometimes I can't help myself, but I try to wait.

Well, you can get 2 of those 3 for a good deal less by going on eBay. That's the real way to get very cheap stuff.

Why? That actually makes me really curious. I've been using it for over 8 years, both buying and selling. If you're careful about what you buy (as in, reading the entire description, checking shipping prices, etc...), you can get some really good deals.

Why? That actually makes me really curious.
1. I don't trust the sellers or the feedback system, which can be manipulated.
2. I don't like buying products through an auction-style method, as prices generally tend to be bid up.
3. Sellers have been known to bid up their own, or others, products.
4. The few times I have purchased through eBay, I have not received the complete product I purchased without going through days of hassle with the seller. Irritating.
5. If a product I am buying is not new, I am extremely hesitant to buy it without handling it myself. I don't trust the sellers' descriptions.
6. I don't like eBay.
My preferred methods for purchasing gaming products are to use Amazon.com or Best Buy for new products, and very rarely local boutique stores for used products (I own so few used games, it's hard to remember the last time I bought one).

That sounds like you really didn't know what to look for in an auction. Granted, I've been around the system for a long time, so I know what to look for, but it's reallynot all that hard. Sure, you'll get a bad experience here and there, but it's still very rare if you look at the auctions and the sellers carefully.

For my job EBAY is a must. But I find it broken/misused and plain retarded. I have to use it but man it sucks. There are so many other systems out there you can use better than Ebay and with far more trust/safety.

I have to agree with Johan a bit. I always weigh my options before I go to eBay. For sellers, eBay can be awesome. For buyers...not so much. Really, it seems like everyone is charging a ridiculous amount for shipping, even for featherweight products. I can ship out a 360 game for less than $2 and it will arrive at someone's doorstep in under 2-3 days (I have just recently). Charging 8.99 for shipping/handling is a joke, as you can a usually clearly see when you get the package. It cost him a buck to send it out media mail and he charged me WHAT?
I had a bad experience back in September where I never received a package. It took me weeks to hear from the seller, who never checks his email. Luckily he refunded my cash, but that time was a pain in the ass. There are so many factors needed to have a good ebay experience that it's almost easier just to get what you need elsewhere. Today I saw some nice Bioshock deals, but the shipping ruined them for me. 39.99 with free shipping at Amazon IS a deal, but I was looking for a slightly better one by buying used. And not having to deal with an eBay seller makes Amazon an even better idea.
Shipping really pisses me off. Found an awesome site for flea meds last week, almost 10 bucks cheaper than any other site. But guess what? Shipping was $10, $10 for something that weighed a few ounces, which ultimately made it more expensive then competitors. Fuck them, went to Amazon and bought it a couple bucks cheaper with free shipping.

Experience on ebay is YMMV - I've mostly been just fine with it, although I've been scammed once for a $30 item. When I sell items, I generally give a very fair and at cost shipping estimate, and package items well. Many sellers just go rip people off though, and that sucks.
As for my Black Friday Amazon.com haul, it'll make some jaws drop:
3 Wiis
3 Gold DS Lite bundles with Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
2 Call of Duty 4s for 360 (each $48 - one is for me, another is a gift)
1 Puzzle Quest for PSP ($10)
1 Rainbow Six: Vegas Limited Edition for 360 ($20)
1 Bioshock for 360 ($40)
1 Sixaxis controller for PS3 ($20)
1 Logitech webcam (-$31 - not a typo, $50 mail in rebate)
The Wiis and gold DS Lite bundles are going on ebay, for probably $900-$1000 profit, while the other stuff is indulgences. The great part about Amazon is 1) no tax, and 2) I have Amazon Prime, so I have free 2 day shipping.

It's so much more than just Bejeweled it's not even funny.
Play the demo. Or just buy it on PC. It's better on a nice high res PC screen anyway, everything's much more readable.

Oh, I know, but I figured that if I don't really care for the core that it's based on, the rest of the game isn't going to change that. I'll give the PC demo a shot though, or hell, even the 360 demo. I just need to get around to doing it.

After playing Puzzle Quest to death on my 360, I decided I wanted it on the go as well so I picked up the PSP version. So for $25 bucks total, I have an HD online version and an HD portable version of a great game. Not too shabby.

I've used ebay for years, never had a problem. Just look for a seller with a good feedback. Also, I usually don't bid on stuff, I usually just use Buy-It-Now. Seriously, don't be so afraid.
