Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/21/rock-the-halo-theme-free-for-guitar-hero-3-tomorrow/) has the scoop that Microsoft and Activision have teamed to make the Halo theme (MJOLNIR Mix) available to download for free tomorrow. The theme features legendary guitarist Steve Vai and should be up Thanksgiving morning for Guitar Hero 3.

Wow. That's one way to combat Rock Band.

any chance of this showing up on other systems, or a Mario theme for Wii and Final Fantasy for PS3?

damn, MJOLNIR Mix would be awesome to play regardless of system

I first read that title and thought that it was saying the Halo theme for the Xbox 360 interface was a hidden bonus in Guitar Hero. I was all ready to fire it up and go searching. :)

Seriously??? They have the GLADoS theme available for GH3 now? Man, that pushes me over the edge. I'm going to have to find a copy of GH3 for my 360 now.

Sorry, I meant MICROSOFT/ACTIVISION should get "Still Alive" as well...

I was looking all over for someone to confirm that "Still Alive" was coming out. I agree, they SHOULD release it. :-)

Eh... I've made worse impulse purchases. Besides, the 360 version is still sold out everywhere I've checked, so--no sale. :(

On an interesting side note, I didn't know they released a PC version of Guitar Hero III (local GameStop said that was the only version they had in stock). I wonder if the PC's wired USB guitar would work with the 360?

No. Still Alive must be in Rock Band.

It IS the 360 X-Plorer. It's even got the Xbox Guide button on it. Of course, the game's a straight port of the 360 version, meaning it has inaccessible system requirements... and on top of that, it runs like crap.

I know my local Wal Mart has a huge sign in the electronics department that says : "We have Guitar Hero 3 for all consoles"

Maybe they just hide them in the back and you have to ask for them or something.

I can't help but think about how much I'd like to play drums on that song...

Hopefully rock band gets some cool stuff like this too.

Um... allowing the DLC on Xbox 360? And Valve are big fans, always dissing the PS3 and such. I'm sure if Microsoft asked Valve to get some exclusive GHIII DLC, it'd happen.

That is a pretty awesome rumour.

I love cross game promotions. I wish it would happen more with XBLA stuff.

(They really should do the Portal song. It'd be cool.)

I picked this up for my PC and love it! Runs fine for me, but I have a beast of a rig (C2D E6600 OC'd/8800 GTX) and playing at 1600x1200 runs like butter. Really having a blast with it too!

Just got it, fun song.. 5 stars on expert first shot. I remember it sounding harder in the song. But its damn nice.

Honestly they should have put Reclaimer from the Volume 2 OST. That song sounds fucking hard.

I didn't do so good. 3 Stars on Medium and I was finding that it seemed like it wouldn't "Hold" a lot when I was doing a sustain. It could just be my controller.

The other thing I notice is that when I'm using the 5.1 speakers the crowd is really loud and when I'm using the headphones everything is balanced better.
