Console Gold (http://www.consolegold.com) has posted the faction list (http://www.consolegold.com/News/news.php?NewsID=3323) and some new screenshots (http://www.consolegold.com/screenshots/index.php?GameID=3520) for 2kGames upcoming strategy title Shattered Union (http://www.consolegold.com/GameInfo/game/3520.html). Here is a little bit about the game: Real-time resolution of turned-based moves. Take your time while you decide your move, but once you have selected your action, see the results all play out in full animation models, exploding vehicles, and burning cities and forests!
Fully destructible terrain/environment. As the battle proceeds, everything from explosions and destroyed buildings permanently mark the terrain. Moving tanks will leave tread marks that stay for the duration of the mission. At the end, very little will look the same.
The game is also coming to Xbox this October with a PS2 version hitting in November.

Looks like it could be cool. Aren't those vehicles a bit large for the game world though?

I wish this game:
(1) was a PC strategy game. The concept sounds really neat.
(2) was not a turn based game. If I wanted a turn based strategy I'll play a board game.

Guess I'll have to wait until it hits for the PC - I really don't like strategy games on the consoles. And yeah, those vehicles look huge, though I guess it might be for the sake of clarity.

I can take some turn-based strat games, but I, too prefer RTS. I get my turn-based fix on the tabletop.

I much prefer turn-based games and look forward to this. Fun idea, too. Hope it turns out good. It can tide me over until Civ IV comes out.

This bear looks fucked up:

Mainly because of it's NOSE.

I'd like this game if:

1) It had a realistic scale.
2) It had realistic colours.
3) It spanned the entire world, iwth the option of where to concentrate.

3) isn't really necessary, but 1 and 2 make me not want this game. It's just something about infantry the size of skyscrapers that takes away from the immersion.
