There is a new FEAR expansion out, Perseus Mandate. For some more $$$ (http://www.gogamer.com/F-E-A-R--Platinum-PC-Games_stcVVproductId24813292VVcatId444758VVviewpro d.htm), you can get the game, and both expansions.

Usually the only difference is the box. Looks like the UK version from the box shot. I have picked up several imports from GoGamer.

Sometimes UK imports will have different copy protection methods (StarForce). This is not the case with Gears. Oh, and the patch you download is different on occasion.

ZING! As predicted, Hellgate shows up on the discount list a whopping 2 weeks after release.

Indeed, most games do. I have been waiting on The Witcher though. This was the last Madness I was going to wait on. Now I will buy it for full price, I am sure it is worth it, but $50 a game is not the PC way.

No, most games that aren't selling do. Some games that are megahits will get a moderate drop in price, sometimes, but generally the bargain prices come with poor sellers.

Dude, can't you read? It says they will pay you 49.90 to play Hellgate.

Still not a good deal imo.

With very few exceptions (Microsoft published) PC games drop in price in a short amount of time (first few months). With the madness sales even the mega hits typically get a $10 off two weeks in. I am not talking 50% off or anything, that is indeed more for the poor sellers.

One could probably buy every PC game within its first 30 days and never pay more than $40 for the game. Sales on PC games are much more common. I am not saying that you cannot find deals on console games in the first month. It is just that it appears, to me at least, that PC games are discounted far more.

I believe you are correct. Part of that is probably the licensing fee that the console manufacturers add to games on the consoles. Even at release, console games tend to be ten or more dollars than their PC counterparts, and subsequent price drops seem a bit slower on the consoles as well.

If you are one of the dozen people who are still interested in FEAR, and have yet to play it, that looks like a good buy. I have to say that Extraction Point was not very good, and Persius Mandate is getting some bad reviews. They are just missing that Monolith genesequa. But the original has some goodness. I have not fired it up in over a year, but I can imagine it holds up graphically.

Perseus Mandate is a mess. just.. Just don't. It doesn't have that "Feel" to it that the original did. The atmosphere and whatnot. And.. Well, both expansions have shown me that whoever is handling the game now has no clue what the fuck they are doing. It's... it's a mess. There is no way else to describe it. the game just feels like a complete mess.

Why they are represented by little girls at a tea party with animals on their heads is beyond me. I don't exactly study the Greek classical elements :p
