Could it be? A modern-day adventure game that isn't bollocks or cancelled?

Can you call it an adventure game if it's real-time 3D, looks to have platforming elements, and you have a health bar?

Nope, but I didn't call it one did I? ;)

Well it's not an action game, it's certainly not a platformer, puzzle, FPS, or RTS. Adventure game may not be 100% accurate, but it is what discribes 80 Days the best.

You go on a quest to find clues, solve puzzles and riddles. Sounds like an adventure to me :)

looks like shit. do you see the streets of these ancient cities? empty and boring. I would much rather have a constrained camera or even a 2d game filled with detail and life. The places in these screen shots don't look too exciting to adventure in.

You mean the sequel to the Longest Journey?

I dunno, could be interesting. More games should add adventure elements. Like FPSs where you can talk to everyone, and interact with everything. Or platformers, like Psychonauts.

I don't know what the industry's problem is with oldschool adventure games. Full throttle, Monkey Island and Grim Fandango still remain some of the funnest games of all time.

Yeah, I wish they hadn't Cancelled "Full throttle 2" and the new "Sam 'n' Max" Game :(
