PC gamers are so starved for RPG's that ARENT treadmill life-investment MMORPG's...I want a great SP game for christ's sake...and no hack/slashers allowed! Gothic 3, Oblivion...they are 2 of the anticipated games. Divine Divinity 2 should be on everyone's list, too. DD's pseduo-sequel, Beyond Divinity, was decent, but badly bug ridden. Still, a welcome respite for last year's drought. 2005 looks to be even drier.

I was a bit wary of Hellgate, but now I'm pretty sure it'll be a game I end up buying.

Diablo 2 + FPS genre = sounds like a fun combo to me. I love the addictive nature diablo 2 had (the way items were done was the best).

Uhm, the official web recommends to check out on the Micromania Magazine in Spain... Glad I live in Spain :-)

have you tried vampire: the masquerade (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/914819.asp?q=vampire)? i think that's meant to have a great story. not tried it myself, don't really have much time for RPGs @tm tbh.

No. Do not try that game. For the love of god. It hurts to play. Buggy as shit, and not nearly as open ended as advertised. The only way to play is by leveling up melee fighting, as the gun controls are unusable, and you cannot beat certain levels if you choose to be non-combatant. And the melee is nothing more than lame button mashing. The graphics do not use Source to its fullest, but there are good odds you will get shitty performance, even if you have an awesome computer. The remarkable story is not that remarkable, and there is really only one way to play through it. You want to work for the evil vampires? Thats easy. Wanna work for the underground good vampires? Ok, but all they will make you do is work undercover for the bad vampires. There is no real choice. When you first start playing the game you think, "this might be pretty cool." But the further you get into it, the more you realize how totally shitty it is.

So, hows about that Hellgate: London?

I'd be more excited if I had some way to play it. How about some next-gen console love, Flagship?
