Game Gossip (http://www.gamegossip.com/comment.php?id=14204) has the scoop on the official launch of the Doom movie website. Check out the site here (http://www.doommovie.com/).

Not much there yet -- some photos, a link to the IGN trailer that was posted earlier, and some meager downloads. Still, looks nice... oh, man, any bets on how many times we'll be hearing that phrase about the movie when it comes out? Yikes.

Is this not an official website? How is it that they don't have their own copy of the trailer, they have to link to IGN???

That's sort of what I was wondering, Keck. Seems weird.

It's official the Doom movie is going to be absolute turd. :p

It also seems they got someone from 'The Last Boy Scout' and also other 90s films(the one who laughs at the mouse then gets owned). I may be wrong though.

The only way i would go and see this film is if me and my mates go take the piss out of it :D

Movies like this are the reason why Bungie won't let their Halo universe given away to any movie studio.

Nice one Bungie

Come on people, there are plenty of teaser trailers that have sucked where the movie turns out to be not so bad. What are you really expecting from a movie based on Doom? The hell knight looks pretty damn badass (though the resemblance to the Alien Queen is a little much), so the special effects could be more than halfway decent.

And as far as Halo/Bungie goes...they sent their little Master Chief couriers to every major movie studio out there. I think its a stretch to say they wouldn't let it be given away to just anyone. Most everyone turned them down. Time to get off the high horse.

You're right Kef, critics will have a field day with this one. In fact, I'm renaming this the "Official Guess the Doom Film Review Title Thread"

Ok. Here's my entry:

"New Doom Film Burned by Hot Coffee"

Not to mention 1/2 of the Halo enemies look like Americanized pokemon stuffed animals. Oh, that makes for some scary and threatening characters. Will Halo movie also involve 3 enemies? Or wait, will Master Chef become trapped inside some basement-like underground base because everything looks the fucking same. Wait, wait, the vehicle physics will really make the movie shine, right? Oh, wait, vehicle physics in movies have existed since film was developed.

I've seen boatloads of fish pulled from the sea that will flop less than this movie.

I don't understand this comment. Is it supposed to be for or against Doom?

Edit: I misread this comment the first time. Makes perfect sense.

Against, methinks.

This movie will flop more than a boatload of freshly caught fish.

Ok, sorry to appear like an idiot before. I had the basic idea of what you were trying to say, but it seemed that your logic was backwards. Upon closer examination, it was just fine. Oops.

The movie looks better than I thought.

And about the Bungie comment...we need something like this. Hollywood films suck. If the Halo movie becomes successfull, it could lead into a new trend of filmmaking. Hats off to them, but middle finger to you.

Umm.. they already have. And it's the same studio: Universal.

The Doom movie should have been a subtle horror movie. It should have taken place weeks or months before the events of the game. When Betruger first made contact with the otherside. The movie would show what life was like on Mars as things got tense, people started hearing demonic voices, workers disappered, strange experiments were taking place, and so on.

Being Directed by: Andreaej Bartkowiak cinematographer (meaning, according to google, person in charge of all image capture, from cameras to lighting.) on lethal weapon 4, species, speed, the devil's advocate, falling down, twins, and a bunch of other crap that was decent. he hasn't directed much other than a couple jet li vehicles, but they were good.

Being Written by: Dave Callaham, who, according to IMDB, hasn't written any movie before, EVER. Or Tv Show. Or anything.

So who knows.

I think it's funny that the trailer doesn't say at any point that the Rock is in it. Was totally expecting "THE ROCK, in DOOM!!!" or something.

I honestly don't think the movie will be as bad as people think.

Yes but they haven't thrown their license away willy nilly. Bungie will be involved in the movie. A set of rules and guidelines have to be met. The Halo movie will be true to the mythology of the games. It won't be a cheap cash in. Unlike this straight to DVD movie :D
