PS2.IGN (http://ps2.ign.com/) has posted a hands-on preview (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/637/637014p1.html) of Sniper Elite including new screenshots for your viewing pleasure.
Here's a bit of the preview:
Our experience with the single player campaign is a measured test of patience that results in satisfying payoffs. The stealth elements include camouflage and sound masking which uses environmental noise to hide your attacks. At the end of the day the game feels more like Splinter Cell with the lights on than a typical WWII shooter, and this is a very good thing.
With a single player campaign that spans 28 missions, a co-op mode, and online multiplayer features expect to hear more details on this game sometime soon.
There is some confusion between Gamestop, Gametab and Ebgames as to what platforms and and when the game is to be released. So taking the word of Namco's Sniper Elite website (http://www.namco.com/games/sniperelite/), it appears October 2005 will be the release schedule for the game in the U.S. and it's being developed for the PC, PS2 and Xbox.
