...in movie form, of course. IGN FilmForce has the exclusive teaser trailer (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/636/636398p1.html) for the upcoming Doom motion picture that had a pretty good showing at SDCC. Starring The Rock and Karl Urban, (LOTR, Riddick) Doom follows the tale of a space marine squad sent to eliminate the horrific monsters on a research facility on Mars. Just as a sidenote, Doom's famous monsters are done mostly by practical effects handled by world-famous Stan Winston Studios. Doom invades theatres October 21st.

The teaser doesn't look great...reminds me ALOT of the first Resident Evil flick, but I'm willing to plunk down 10 bucks to see what Stan Winston has cooked up.

The first Resident Evil flick wasn't too bad. Whereas the second was a sad travesty of justice. Or something.

How come they get flashlights on their guns?

Tell me about it. I can't play Doom 3 at night. Wowzers!

Aintitcoolnews.com said when they showed a full clip of the movie at the most recent Comic Con, the audience stood up and cheered at the end of it.

At the very least it will be a fun, gory, monster-filled shoot 'em up.

Resident Evil 2 was totally better than the first movie. Jill Valentine? That alone should raise it by at least half a star. Not S.T.A.R.S.

That's coming from AICN though. Like scraping the bottom of a vomit soaked tub.

Resident Evil 1 didn't have a whole lot to do with the game, but was a fun movie.

Resident Evil 2 was such a turd, it takes two flushes to get it out of the bowl!
Not only did it spit all over the game, but it defied the audience to sit in one place and stomach the lunacy that was presented on the screen. A travesty!

See, I thought the second was much more streamlined crap that it made it even more enjoyable. And....and Jill Valentine! Have you no soul?

The trailer looked alright but I thought it pretty funny that the lights went out in it about 4 different times.. I think I spied the plasma gun in there somewhere.

Still I'll be boycotting this one. I can't stand "THE ROCK".

Personally I thought Resident Evil 2 was one of the funniest movies I had seen in a long time. :p

when the chick started snapping necks in the cementary that is when the movie was completely ruined for me not even the scene when the S.t.a.r's are sniping Old Nemie with a 50cal. anti tank rifle. Pfft, and the chick is supposed to fight it wtf....

Sweet Christ that looked horrid, WTF was that first 5 secs, the rest of it looked pretty cheap too? a B Sci-Fi movie? Jesus! The entire thing looks more like a rival of Starship Troopers 2 more than Starship Troopers 1.

I'm not trying to compare the story to Starship Troopers, I"m comparing how lame and shitty the effects look, as for the story, thats been covered by everyone else, it's RE1 on Mars.

I didn't realize they were doing a sequel to Ghosts of Mars. Interesting.

My goodness, that preview did look rather low-class. It'd be neat if the whole preview was some sort of B-quality knockoff intended to lull people into low expectations, but I sincerely doubt Hollywood is capable of such subtlety. :-) I'm still gonna plink down the coin for it, either way. Here's hoping it's not a total disaster.

RE2 was almost as good as a Uwe Boll movie. Not quite, but close.

I actually think it looks pretty entertaining, about what I'd expect from a standard action flick. The monsters I saw looked pretty much exactly like the ones from the game.

RE2 was like a live version of most anime. No direction, wafer thin plot and characters and absolutely whacked pacing. It jumped around all over the place too. If you like anime, I guess you'd like RE2. ;)

Damn beat me to the punch. Was just about to ask if Uwe Boll is directing this turd?

Looks terrible. They don't even have those traditional Doom helmet's on. And where's all the cool Doom music, and just a pea-shooter? They all got assault rifles. BOOOOOOOORRIIIIIING!

I wish they'd make a movie to game translation that actually was LIKE THE GAME!

yea how hard would it have been to give em the green armor, even if they left out the mask

they look like swat/commando/ninja/right wing militants

how fucking creative

Come again? AICN blows as a news source and the community there is worse than a group of rednecks at a KKK gathering talking amongst one another about the latest math theories. Equate it to trying to pull information from the World of Warcraft message boards and you'll start to scratch the surface. Have you ever been there? Wade knee-deep in the electronic-text-filth and then get back to me.

The trailer reminds me of Aliens - which is a good thing.
