Gamecloud has posted word (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=844) that MTV Games is currently developing a game based on Jackass, the classic MTV series starring Johnny Knoxville and his crew as they do wild and often painful stunts.

This could be good if it uses a great physics engine and lets you view/record replays for possible later editing. I'm being serious.

I could see this as being somewhat fun if they do it right and with a good physics engine. Though I am not sure I would purchase it for more then a bargain bin price tag.
Hey, if its fun I'll play it.

This has the potential to be fun if done properly, actually, and I say that as someone who never liked the TV show. But it'll probably end up sucking.

Heh, "classic". Is that term even usable yet for something that came out post 2000?

You know, my initial reaction was "hmmm, crap." As I thought about it though, I realized it it's going to mostly be a game where you wheel your character around from one location of intense pain to another. It'll be sort of like Tony Hawk, where a good bit of fun is found in launching your character into the air and watching the wince inducing crash, but less skating and more tasers!

I thought THUG 2 was Jackass the Game.

I'll be skipping this just like i skip the show.
What could the point to this game possibly be? Do you win when the annoying Bam guy finally hits his head too hard and dies? :P
ok that was harsh, but I don't care. I just don't see much in the way of gameplay from the guys that brought us: Shooting bottle rockets out their ass, and shoving Matchbox cars up their ass...
Ever notice how a lot of stuff involves the ass with these guys? Coincidence?
I'm with Beelzebud.
This is going to be crap, just like the idiotic show.

I see that nobody has mentioned the fact that some dumbass kids are gonna get their hands on the game, and then do the stunts themselves and get fucked up. It will be another media fiasco. You'd think that game designers would learn their lesson and stop putting out games with no morally redeeming values whatsoever. *coughrockstarcough*

No morally redeeming values? Rockstar taught me how to wage a turf war and thus give members of my posse a job which leads to money for their various families. I too learned not to trust anyone who looks like Eazy-E and that most skyscraers hold parachutes for base jumping.

GTA also teaches you that the police WILL bust your ass. Unless you can get to a Pay N' Spray, but isn't that a good message to send? That the police ALWAYS know when you have been naughty, and they will relentlessly hunt you down.
Jackass the game will be crap. The only times I was amused by Jackass was when they did the public reation stuff, I was bored when they did the sick/violent crap, but doing weird pranks and watching people react... it's fun.
Odds are good the game will involve chasing a midget on a skateboard while weilding a baseball bat.

Well, the police will relentlessly hunt you down unless you find a decent hiding spot and sit it out for a couple hours. Then the police will completely forget about your crimes. If you manage to kill a lot of people and/or cops, however, search the area for magical stars that make the police care a little bit less about your many many homicides.

Well, if they are running around outside looking for magical stars they will be easier to catch right?

Games have to have morals and values now?
I thought that was the whole point of gaming. To escape reality.
