The first-ever Battlefield console installment will drop players into the heat of battle on the high tech frontlines, entering a new modern era of combat with more firepower and new expansive environments. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of over 30 vehicles, including tanks, helicopters and fast attack vehicles, to engage in major conflicts in some of the largest online battles.

If Digital Illusions can deliver on the rest of the maps and the single player campaign the way they did with Backstab, Xbox owners may finally have a good reason to eject Halo 2 from their consoles this November and participate in Modern Combat's 24-player mayhem on Live.Check the full Battlefield 2: Modern Combat preview (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26705) over at WorthPlaying.

Everybody seems to be so positive about this. Isn't this also coming out for 360? If it is, I will try to wait it out.

I will wait it out for the 360 version.

If the 360 version has a party system like what Bungie provided then that will be amazing.

Game looks very good but dammit if connecting to any server is near impossible.

Will they be able to replicate that awesome frame-rate stutter I have playing on my PC?

I think not.

I realize everyone has their witty comments to make, but this is not the same game as BF2...

I could have sworn that at first, they were just calling it Battlefield: Modern Combat. AFAIK, the 2 just started appearing recently, and that seems to be causing some confusion. Looking at the trailer, it's clear that the game is very different from Battlefield 2.

Wow, this looks like crap compared to BF2 on PC, and only 24 players (and I'd question if that even works well, given my experience playing on Xbox servers). Plus it doesn't come out until November, when the only console I'll care about is the 360. But good luck to you, BF:MC.
