PS2.ign.com (http://ps2.ign.com) has the story that Best Buy has free copies of the Burnout Revenge Demo (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/636/636338p1.html).
The Burnout demo includes one single level of racing, which itself is made of one lap on an unnamed Detroit map. The player, at the end, is ranked according to how many points he or she has earned during the race. Points are funneled into Driving, Aggression and Revenge categories.
I liked how IGN took all the copies...

Wow, that's really a bastardish thing to do. Like they don't already get enough opportunity to play game demos they have to deprive others that don't get the chance. What jerks.

Da IGN are jerks, chances are, so is Best Buy.

I remember when the UT2k4 demo came out. There were "free" copies available at my local best buy. They had imprinted right on the cd something to the effect of 'this is a free promotional give away, it is not to be sold under any circumstances'. This warning was right next to Best Buy's sticker saying that it cost 5$.

Wow, what the hell? They actually took them all.

And the best part? IGN readers will surely follow their example, and clean out Best Buys nationwide. Then play the demo once, and forget about it all.

Not entirely sure why we're surprised by this. It's like everyone I went to high school with wrapped up in one company. Why do people still go to their site?

I'm interested in the top 100 personally. Of course...I know I'm gonna disagree. I'm sure they are gonna put Halo in the top 10. While...an A+ title, it does not deserve to be way up there.

and...FFX higher than FFVII....too each his own

They already blew it; Contra is not nearly high enough. The remainder of the list is void. VOID!

I came to the conclusion that IGN is a bunch of cocknockers a long time ago. Gamespot's a lot more professional.

Guys, I got a copy of the demo and there is virtually no gameplay. You drive around an essentially circular track. You can see the new crash features, which is interesting, but there isn't really much to do.

Not that IGN sucks, they do, but you're not missing anything.

They were pretty heavy on PS2 copies at my Best Buy. A buddy and I got the last two Xbox copies.

Can't wait to give this a try after work.
