It's out in the wild. So far it only seems to be popping up in Wal-Marts.
Listings are already up on eBay. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Rock-Band-Special-Edition-for-Xbox-360-GET-IT-NOW_W0QQitemZ190169014258QQihZ009QQcategoryZ62053Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
There is a CAG Thread (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157812) on the whole damn affair.
It starts out as a bunch of yelling and disbelief, then it suddenly seems to turn into Legit City.
Update: The Official Rockband Forums (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?p=98639#post98639) has response from Harmonix saying that these units are actually demo units.
Broken street dates is becoming a new fad.

Hmm... guess I could try and pick up a couple of these to eBay when the inevitable shortage occurs.

Well, I can't post the whole thing, but it started with just a guy saying he saw it. No pics, no nothing to prove it. Then he gets flamed until someone else is able to confirm and actually buy the product. Now the rest of the thread waits for this guy to unbox it and throw up some shots.
Thing is, if you can, check your local Wal-Marts as they may just have it already in stock.

That's what she said.
First with Guitar Hero, and now with Rock Band. You, sir, deserve an award for notifying EvAv of beaing able to obtain music games early.

Check my local Wal-Mart? Sh'yeah right, they can't even get new games on the shelves that are SUPPOSED to be there let alone get anything up early. If they ever managed to do that I'd have a heart attack and die.

I am shocked!
7.25% tax, THAT"S IT? We pay 8%, then they add another 6% to that for 14% + ...
I wonder if Canadian Walmart may have this ... calling contact now.
EDIT: negative

I notify because it isn't in my area and if someone finds it near them, I'd be more than happy to take it off their hands.

And don't forget that nobody seems to know about this mysterious "exchange rate" thing up here....fuckers.
Going down to the States during the middle of this month and I'm going to buy as much as I can.

It doesn't hurt to check. It seems as it's only the PS3 version right now, but someone at one WM said they should have the 360 version on Monday.

It was at Best Buy in Anchorage AK. yesterday. Me and the drummer for our band were staring at it all setup wishing our singer and bass player were with us. But yes indeed, Rock Band for 360 is here.

I think you are talking about the demo units - whereas these are the actual FOR SALE retail units.

Yeah I've seen the demo at Best Buy for awhile. Man I want this out now. I have to get it at BB, since I have a gift card there. Grrrr....I guess I'll just have to be content with GH3 for now.

You are correct that the setup was a demo. But they did indeed have the game. Now that I think of it though, I only saw regular size boxes, just the game I believe but it was available for purchase. Just do a "select preferred store" on best buy and see if it's in stock. The full dealy still say coming soon, bummer as what is rock band without instruments.
edit: they also had "game only" PS3 versions.

Just played the demo version at BB. So much fun. The guitar is really nice too. The button placement and design is perfect, imo.

Crap, I pre-ordered from Amazon, so I'm stuck waiting no matter what.

According to this post on Rockband's website (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?p=98639#post98639), those units are just demo units. Who knows if that's BS or not.

I made a few stops on my lunch break. No Rock Band yet in Florence or Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

I don't like these threads, as the leaks are always very scattered, and they make EvAvers go searching for games they cannot find.

Well it's their time/effort so why not? It's pretty clear from the OP that this is a very YMMV thing....

Just hit Wal-mart in Woodland Hills, Ca. They have them, but won't sell them. Had it not been for the sales associate calling the manager to confirm whether he could sell it or not it would have been mine. Oh so damn close. Also, they had over 15 units between PS3 and 360 in their stock room from what I could see when the associate went to get it from the back. I have a hard time believing those were all demo units.

So...did anyone read the story about EA saying "We won't have enough product, good luck getting it."
It's here. (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7768&Itemid=2) Does anyone really think this is going to sell that well? I mean...I'm interested in it, but I think that the fact no one knows what it is and its high price point is going to make the sales a lot lower then the gaming media and the fans who follow games are thinking.

This is going to be one of those games that sells REALLY well by word of mouth. Other than the hardcore and informed, I don't see many others picking it up around launch. I do expect it to continue selling really strong though for weeks on end because of word of mouth.
