At the recent playstation meeting, Ken Kutaragi hinted that The PS3 may very well be playable at this years Tokyo Game Show. Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com) has an article (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/22/news_6129611.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6129611) that quotes Kutaragi.
In his final remarks, Kutaragi hinted that PS3 demos of games will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show in September. "We hope to use the Tokyo Game Show as a chance for everyone to get to know, or possibly experience, what next-generation entertainment is all about," he said.
The Gamespot article (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/22/news_6129611.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6129611) also outline the events of the entire Playstation meeting.

The Tokyo games show takes place on September 16th, 17th, and 18th.

A chance for Sony to redeem themselves over the Killzone 2 fiasco.

Fat chance...

At the conference there was a slide outlining the timeline for the PS3's launch. TGS was a major point on that timeline. Hardly a "hint" I'd say.

Here's the slide:

All evidence points to a playable version at TGS.

If Devil May cry 4 is playable then I might have to jump a plane to Japan :)

TGS is only 2 months away so I dont think we will see more then a couple of playable game demos.

Wow, playable 6 months before the console is out....I wonder who else (http://www.xbox360.com) already did that?

Wow, why the cheerleading? Way to turn a harmless post into a console debate.

Well, does it really matter? If sony served up a brown turd with two sticks and some corn for buttons on it, the Japanese would fawn over it and say it was revolutionary shit...plus wireless! IMO...and I stress IMO, most Japanese gamers are probably pleased in the manner Sony stole the thunder out of the 360's sail at E3. Xbox has almost no chance for success in Japan...due to nationalism mainly. Mainstream America press and public have no idea of the bs Sony pulled.

Redeem...no. Congratulate...yup.

Plus, go look at some of the games at IGN PS3 looks hot. I'm getting a 360...no doubt. I have over 100 xbox games, so I'm sticking with MS. But I may pick up one of those fugly PS3s.

I don't think 'ol Krazy Ken Kutaragi has enough tact to hint at anything. Take it with a grain of salt, or, better yet, assume it's a bald-faced lie.

There are 100 Xbox games?

LOL. 100 games is a lot, I only have like 30 games all together (current gen games).

I have maybe 30 PS2 games and 10-15 Gamecube, and even those I can't seem to ever get all the playtime in I want. And I know there weren't that many Xbox games that came out that even came close to grabbing me. Hrm.

No, there are not. If I kept all the games that I felt were worth owning...I'd have maybe 20. Maybe.

But I simply do not trade in the games...I'm a collector.

I go back and forth from considering myself a collector. One of the article I wrote for the school paper last semester was about how gaming is, at heart, a collector's hobby, and I had some people who really liked it and others who vehemently disagreed. Not sure what I think yet.

Should I start holding my breath now? ...or wait till the first day of the show?
