EA announced today that Army Of Two will slip past this holiday release schedule and move to a "first quarter 2008" release.

"Game quality is our top priority. Army of Two has potential to become a lasting EA franchise -- so getting the first title right is essential," said President of the EA Games Label. "The team at EA Montreal thinks that more time for polish will make the game truly great. We're going to trust the team and give Army of Two a few more months in the studio. Army of Two will ship in first quarter of calendar 08."

Thanks to 1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163850).

You know, if all these slips to early 2008 actually stick, then that time period is going to be just as full of top tier titles as this jam packed holiday season.

So True. Already next year I'm looking at Smash Bros, Wii Fit, Metal Gear Solid and more. Personally, I don't mind if they push more into the Winter and Spring so I can have quality top-tier gaming all year round instead of having it all clumped up before the Christmas holiday.

Oh EA, always good for a laugh.

You actually want to buy Wii Fit?

You actually want to buy Wii Fit?

I was thinking the same thing.

Damn, I was looking forward to this. My wallet is happier though, slightly.

You actually want to buy Wii Fit?

Yes. Yes I do.

Currently, Mrs. Kamalot works out using Yourself Fitness for the original Xbox (runs on the 360 in Backwards Compatibility). We are both looking forward to Wii Fit.

Isn't this the most expensive developed game ever?

Things that slip till spring have a tendency to keep on slipping till the next holiday season.

I'm not even sure I want to be interested in this game. The biggest selling point is that it's built around co-op, which I absolutely love, but at the same time, it's an EA game, so I know they'll shut down the online mode 1 year out to try to force the sequel on everyone. It's a bitch when EA actually puts out a good game, isn't it?

That reminds me, they need to sell Burnout so I don't have the same problem with that.

This could be interesting. It could be another shitty shooter. Time will tell.

Nooooo!

Where else can I get some suggestive time with a co-op buddy?

Please, nobody answer that. Please. For the love of Pete...Kris Kringle...and whoever else; don't.

Harvey Birdman was finished but pushed back to avoid the holiday rush, but if early 08 gets any more crowded maybe they should reconsider.

What exactly is coming out this holiday season? Mass Effect and Mario Galaxy? Everything else I can remember that was going to be coming out for Christmas has been pushed back to Q1 2008.

You still have Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, and Ratchet and Clank to look forward to as well.

Really?! At EA?! Maybe they actually just found another system they could port the game too.

This makes me sad, especially after finding out Kane & Lynch doesn't have online coop. The holiday season is going from wallet killing incredible to mediocre with a quickness.

I'd say this is a bad sign on an already iffy looking game.

Bad sign? Everything is getting delayed these days, I think that teams are just out of their depth working on this generations hardware. They'll get it together eventually. I'll probably never touch Army of Two, but I'll be tempted to since it is being developed in my home town. I own a bunch of unplayed UbiSoft games as well. I have a sickness.

And Call of Duty 4. Anyone game for Fire Emblem or Zack and Wiki? What about Jericho?

I'm always down for Fire Emblem. Zack & Wiki has my interest and Uncharted will at least get a rental from me. Army of Two, never on my radar. I watched some videos where your companion kept making complete asshole remarks during the game. If I want a companion that is an asshole, I can play online with strangers, I don't need the AI to do be programmed to be an asshole thank-you-very-much.

So much hate for Army of Two... Any game built from the ground up for online co-op is alright by me.

Hell, even Halo is fun if you play it co-op. :)

I'd say the fact that it was delayed is actually a good sign. It means hopefully that they'll put more polish in and make it a better experience. Delays are almost always a good thing.

Hmmm, I always thought Army of Two was a Q1 2008 release.

Oh well. This is a game that I've really been looking forward to. I love co-op. Plus, I have a roommate with a 360 so that's gonna rock.

Army of Two has actually had pretty reasonable press so far, at least on the sites/magazines I read.
