From Software has released new screens of it's upcoming PS3 game Project Force.

Eh... looks alright. I would have expected a lot better from From Software. The jaggies are pretty outrageous. Obviously they don't have FSAA working yet.

Those are some asstastic graphics.

Welcome to the next generation... just like the old one but widescreen.

Those are screenshots scaled up from something like 640x480, you're silly guys :P

These are at the original size. GAFbots have been shrinking them to hide the jaggies, but you won't find that kind of chicanery here.

The 360 will have a 1st party VGA connection. So yes...it looks like they will.

I wasn't interested in this game until I saw these screenshots. Frankly, I'm a fan of anything that involves giant robots blowing stuff up, and I couldn't care less about graphics. Hell, I'd be interested if it was a text-based game about giant robots blowing stuff up.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Might finally get me interested in one of them new fangled things, now all the need is a keyboard and mouse... hmm maybe my wireless MS keyboard and mouse might work with it?

It actually looks like a real game though, unlike any other PS3 "Screenshots". Plus Giant Robots are always good, unless it's Mechassault.

Yeah, don't know what you haters are talking about it. It definately looks cool. And I agree with Lasakon, it looks like a "game" not just a technology demo or screenshots.

Again, for those of you that keep bitching about next gen graphics.

#1. Learning curve to new platforms
#2. Non final hardware
#3. next-gen looks better in motion than screens thanks to better particle FX and lighting

Even if the screens are so-so, the game could end up looking fantastic. I know speculation and partisanship is fun, especially on a message board, but honestly wait and see games in person and I don't think you'll be disappointed in the new consoles.

These are scaled -- easy way to tell: If you zoom in on the pictures the jaggies are roughly 2 pixels wide when they should only be 1. There was some cheesy linear/cubic interpolation on the scaling (which accounts for some of the fuzz on the very tip of the jaggy while leaving the actual jagged edges twice the size they should be). 720p native scaled to 1080p -- not hard to tell.

Not that the game looks all that fantastic when scaled back down (seems it is early still), but at least the jaggies aren't oversized. The destructable world sounds pretty cool -- who wouldn't want to destroy a city with a mech? Fuck the rest of the game I just want to blow stuff up.

Here is what you need to know: From Software is making a game about giant robots blowing things up. Are you the sort of person who still buys Armored Core games? Great, join me. We can admire how incredibly sexy this looks. In fact, the only recent news that can compare to how sexy this is would be that someone is finally making a new Shadowrun game. The future is bright and shiny (by which I mean dark and ruled by corrupt megacorporations) and full of explosions and it's going to be great.

Are you the sort of person who never cared about Armored Core? Well, then you don't care. Move along. There's a thread about sex in GTA or some other such rubbish you're probably needed in.

As I have said before, if you watch the video (http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/761/761163/vids_1.html) you wont see any jaggies and the game look great.

So this is an Armored Core sequel? Excellent. The last one I played was AC3 and I enjoyed to no end. Have they sorted out the controls yet?

According to IGN the video presentation was running in 1080p or 1080i. It also made these shots look like anus. No idea what to think at the moment.

Did anyone else think this was no more than a CGI sequence? There were no targeting reticles when the missiles were fired, the camera angles were not indicative of (most of the time) what you'd expect to be looking at during the action portion of a game, not to mention that was a pretty barren city.

I could be wrong, but I'd love to see some in game sequences, and yes, it is way too early to give some final decreeon a game that has 7-16 months left in development.
