NIGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Sega's revival of the fan favorite Saturn game, this time for the Wii, now has an official release date.
Gamespot reports (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6181087.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6181087) that the game will ship in North America on December 18th. European fans will have to wait until January to get their hands on the title.
I think a title like this could really benefit from a downloadable demo. Unfortunately Nintendo doesn't seem too interested in things like that at the moment.

Jesus..that seems like it is too soon for a release. I really hope this was not a rush job. While I never played the full version, I had the demo for it with my Saturn and I could replay it over and over again.

This is why some of us finally broke down and got GameFly :o Not that Nintendo shouldn't be giving demos, though

Pro - NiGHTS was great first time around
Con - Sega sucks these days.
Could go either way I guess.

I loved the original Nights. I still have it as a matter of fact. You can only play Strikers so many times before you get sick of it. Other than that the only thing that I have played that got me excited for a Wii is Excitetruck. I got sick of the party games pretty quick. I never really liked any of the Metroid games outside of the 2D ones. So no, really no point in me buying a Wii as there isn't anything I really want to play on it.

I agree that it would be nice, but Nintendo simply can't allow downloadable demos - the hard drive is too small. You MIGHT be able to squeeze a playable demo of a Wii game into 512 meg - but even then, you'd need an EMPTY drive to play it. Unless they make it compatible with either proprietary or 3rd party hard drives (could go either way), there's no chance of downloadable demos on the Wii.

8GB Flash Cards FTW? (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134482) I mean we make 11GB work on the 360.

You do have a point. However, I've found that my 2 gig flash card is really, really slow.
Also, why is Excite Truck the only game with a customizable soundtrack? It's annoying.

Because custom soundtracks aren't standardised on the Wii.

You can't play Virtual Console games off of a memory card, so I assume that any demos that theoretically come out would run the same way.

I think a blinking blue light could fix this.

Elebits is my favorite Wii game so far. That gravity gun is the most awesome thing ever.

I bough my wii for Nights and mario.
Played it for a couple days, gave to my nephews for the time being.
The machine is a lot, and I mean a LOT of fun with others at a party drinking, but other than that, please let mario and nights kick ass, as I know at least one will.
God dont suck nights....
Anyone else here finding little to no use for there wii other than the waiting game?
slick machine, but I feel there are far less games on that then the ps3 that I would like to play at the moment.
My mom is buying one though after playing it, which is the craziest thing I have ever heard, she hates games, but loved LOVED it.

You are a big fan of simple puzzle games designed for children?

Where did you see that the puzzle are designed for children?
What have read on Ign is that the puzzle are hugely elaborate and amazingly clever.

Haven't you heard? If a game features cartoony graphics and doesn't involve killing hundreds of aliens with an automatic weapon then it is for kids. In fact, it is 100% true that Nintendo systems only feature games for kids and casual gamers.

I'm not sure what those copies of Godfather, Metroid Prime 3, SSX, Tony Hawk and Mortal Kombat are doing on my shelf, though. They obviously can't be Wii games, despite what the box says.

Look, I am not saying that the game is bad, just that it is a kid's game. You may find differently, or some sources might. But I have heard, much like with Dragon Quest Swords, that it is a simple, very kid friendly game. Maybe there is more depth and challenge than what was presented in those preview builds.

Actually, you shouldn't need more than 200 megs. Most Live and PSN demos are within 1x-2x of the system RAM. Still a large percentage of system memory though.

Yeah, I'd agree based on the trailer I saw. It looks cute and kind of fun but hardly something I'm desperate to own a wii for.

In a dream I could see
you are not far away.
Anytime, Anyplace.
I can see your face.
You're that special one,
that I have been waiting for,
and I hope you're looking for,
someone like me.
In my dreams,
I can hear you calling me.
In the night,
everything's so sweet.
In your eyes,
I feel there's so much inside.
In the nights, dream delight;
I want to see you standing there.
In the nights, dream delight;
I've found someone who really cares.
In the nights, dream delight;
I want to see your smile again.
In the nights, dream delight;
You're the one I waited for.
n a dream we can do,
everything we want to.
There's no where I'd rather be,
but here with you.
The stars above light the way,
only for you and I.
I'm so glad I've found the one,
I've been looking for.
