1up (http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3163666), Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/toohuman/news.html?sid=6181072&om_act=convert&om_clk=newlyadded&tag=newlyadded;title;1), and Gametrailers (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26442.html) all have new info and videos up on Too Human. The focus of all three being how Too Human is much more RPG than action game as everyone, supposedly, thought, with lots of comparisons to games like Diablo and World of Warcraft. From Gamespot:
Currently scheduled for release in 2008, the first installment of Silicon Knights' Too Human trilogy is "one of the most misunderstood games in the industry," at least according to Denis Dyack, the developer's founder and president. We had an opportunity to visit Silicon Knights' Canadian office earlier this month, and after spending a couple of hours with a work-in-progress version of Too Human, we can report that Dyack is, or at least was , right. Nothing that we've been allowed to see of Too Human previously led us to believe that it would be anything other than a fast-paced, single-player action game, but we now know that simply isn't the case.
The combat in the videos still looks a little quirky and slow paced, but I think gamers will be much more forgiving of that if the game is as deep on the RPG elements as the previews seem to be indicating.

Gah. Finally those people who have not paid attention to the heaps of Too Human info currently available will realise it is not a FLIPPING GOD OF WAR CLONE!
I hope this doesn't need to be said again because I don't mind game hate, so long as it is informed game hate and the last Too Human thread was full of anything but.

Because the camera positions in Too Human are more or less locked, the right analog stick is available to serve a far greater purpose: melee-attacking enemies in any direction. With a well-timed double-tap, you can launch enemies into the air where they're helpless and can be juggled with subsequent projectile attacks. Incidentally, the right analog stick is also used to move your crosshair between targets when using ranged weapons, and we found that the system worked very well once we'd spent a little time with it.
That sounds like an easy way to keep your thumb on the action stick. Could SK really have made the stick-based combat work?
The distinct impression I get is that SK is bringing some of the best parts of MMOs, in gear, loot, classes, leveling, etc., and placing them all in a setting that gives you more palpable combat. It also looks to offer some nice online co-op, and any game that offers this that isn't a FPS is welcome to me. I've been keeping on eye on this game for a long time, and I think it could very well gel into something special.

I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this game. A video can only show so much, I had a good feeling about this game and I'm hoping its everything they say and more.

The Gametrailers video looked good to me. If they can keep the 4 player Co-Op over Live in there -- consider 4 copies all but sold day 1 here.

I think combat looks much better on those videos, animations are also better.

I just hope once Too Human hits, they can keep a yearly release schedule for the trilogy. As I have wanted the game since I saw the 360 version of it.

From what I understand, they're developing all three installations of the game simultaneously. So they should be able to stick, at least relatively, close to their targeted release dates for the second two installments.

Hellgate: London?
Hmmm, now that I think about it, this game bears more than a passing resemblance to it.
That being said, it seems futuristic RPGs are the in thing these days.

Or rather Hellgate: London bears more than a passing resemblance to Too Human, given that Too Human has been in development for going on a decade now.

It's not the futuristic thing, it's the want-it-both-ways medieval / future thing.
It's a pet peeve of mine to see medieval-future games because I always think to myself, shit, give me a M16 and I'll pop that guy in the face from 300 yards, plug my iPod into his plasma axe, and sit down for some QT on his futuristic face.

One is more ambitious with its story, the other more ambitious with its online.

Not according to Webster's dictionary (http://webster.com/dictionary/installment) ;).

I think the co-op is what's really selling me on this game. 4 player co-op. They did take some of the Unreal 3 engine look out of it. Sort of generic, but in it's own way, it has it's own style.

I was mostly optimistic about this for the story and setting so far, but now I'm starting to feel reassured about the whole package. Actually, it's looking like it may offer a unique package, all told. I could deal with some fresh concepts (settings, stories, mechanics) in RPGs, so I sure hope this delivers.
I'm just waiting to see how the combat 'feels' once you get the hang of it. Obviously it won't be Ninja Gaiden material, but we have NG if we want an action game with lite RPG elements with fighting game responsiveness. I'm looking for Too Human to provide a different distribution entirely. Can't load the video at work right now — how are those animations coming along?
Probably a game that can be fun in co-op for a day or two.

I still see shitty frame rate in every video I've seen of this game. And the graphics aren't all that mindblowing.

We will have to see how this game turns out. So far every person who has their hands on the preview build said that it controls like shit. If they can nail the controls this game might be fairly decent. The game has interesting backstory to it so it could be fairly good. I just worry about how the combat turns out. It looks clunky right now, with terrible targeting.

If people keep mentioning Diablo in the future. Is that not a good thing? Sure it's not diablo, but we haven't played the game at all yet.

No, everyone who had their hands on the E3 2006 build said it controls like shit. If you actually bothered to read the articles link in the story, you would know that both 1up and Gamespot were rather positive about how the game controls now.
