It's a big blog post (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2007/10/10/playstation-eye-a-little-more-info/) full of details. Some of the high points:
Available as a stand-alone on October 23, wait a retail price of $39.99
640 x 480 resolution at 60 fps or 320 x 240 resolution at 120 fps
Auto Focus
Built-in 4-mic array with background noise filter
Will also work with SingStar to make user-created videos
EyeCreate Software available for FREE download on the PlayStation Store and allows you to save, edit and share PlayStation Eye videos, photos and audio clips
The blog really touts this thing as being the best camera out there for consoles and PCs. It goes on to say that the 4-mic thing "allows you to enjoy online AV chat and in-game voice chat, meaning, not awkwardly leaning toward your camera or speaking abnormally loud just so the mic picks up your voice" and "this microphone really does do away with the need for a headset". Now, some of you may sit close to your consoles, but I'm a good 10 to 15 feet from mine, and I play games pretty loud, so I'm pretty sure a headset will be needed for me, regardless.

Apparently the mic can also locate you spatially. That's pretty neat.

yea Psyko, I think you can use it even when it's loud. I think IGN did some tests with it and said it's fab.

120fps seems a bit much, since the system only displays 60fps at most, especially when it means cutting the resolution by three quarters. Remember when this was the HD Eye Toy, and hooked into the gigabit ethernet port?

It doesn't display at 120fps, it captures at 120fps, which allows for more frame interpolation at lower light levels, and a smoother image at higher light levels.

Is it just me, or is the Playstation Eye the scariest fucking name for a peripheral ever?

I'll be getting one, along with Eye of Judgment. It can watch me while I masturbate!

So, if I get Eye of Judgment, and play it online, what's to stop everyone from printing out pictures of cards and never shuffling?

The computer keeps track of what cards you can play. You can't play anything that isn't registered before you start the game.

When you play online, your deck is completely handled by the computer. It draws for you so that you can't just play whatever. The only way I can see cheating is to register someone else's card, but then you wouldn't have it to lay down on the mat when it gets played. So, I would say cheating is pretty much a no go on EoJ. I can't wait for this game!

Couldn't you photocopy a card to play it?

If SONY wants sales of this thing to take off they need to get SKYPE out on the PS3. They have it on their failed Mylo handheld so it can't be much of a stretch for them to get on the PS3 (and PSP no less).

Im not positive, but if you notice on the video there are 4 neon green squares on the cards. If I remember correctly, that is where the information for the card is loaded, so that new cards can be put into the system it reads the info there to identify the card. I do not think that could be easily copied.
But people are creative, there may become a way to fake the system.

A. You have to show your deck to the computer before the match, they call it "registering". Not only do you have to let it scan every card but if you say have 4 of the same card you have to let it scan all four at the same time so you can't pretend to have 4 of one card when you do not.
B. Once you've scanned your deck and started the match the computer does the drawing, not you. It will tell you what card to draw from your deck and place in your hand.

Okay, so everyone's explained why the "never shuffling" isn't a problem. But, I still don't understand why downloading PDFs of the cards and printing them out wouldn't work.

I'm curious how the mic works while you are playing. Like, how does it not pick up the sound effects and music from the games?

Considering how great they say this mic is, I wonder if this thing can be used on a computer?

By calculating the delay between the microphones in the array it can determine where the sound is coming from. Presumably you program or "train" the microphone so that it can identify the area the player is usually located in. Sounds from that area = voicechat, everything else gets tossed out.
People have asked about scanning the cards. I don't know the answer to this one but my first guess would be that the cards are serialized and it won't let the same serial number of a given card occur twice in the same game. So somebody posts a scan of a Black Lotus(whatever, just saying)on the net, then lots of people copy it... it wouldn't work if two people played each other with the copies from the same original.
I'm thinking that between the resolution of the camera, the encoding scheme, and the pricing of the cards that making accurate, effective copies may cost more than just buying the cards outright. That would leave copying really only useful for very rare cards, which would be covered by a serial number scheme as I previously mentioned.

It does pick them up. It's just that if you know exactly what interference there is, and since it's output by the PS3 they have an exact digital copy, and you have a fair amount of processing power, which the PS3 does, removing that audio is fairly simple.
