Verizon Wireless (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=581&e=1&u=/nm/20050718/tc_nm/verizon_electronicarts_dc) will start to sell mobile versions of popular Electronic Arts titles. Verizon Wireless, a venture of Verizon Communications Inc. and Vodafone Group Plc, said it would provide games including Madden NFL 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and NBA Live 06 to customers of its VCast high-speed data service first launched in February.
World domination is ever closer.....
This sucks. Now I have to boil my phone and put it in quarantine.

C'mon people, think about it. This means you could be playing "Hard Hat Mack" or "Archon" on your Verizon brand cellular phone. This is fantastic news.

This makes Verizon's Nazi like control over and wayyyy overpriced downloads(ringtones AND apps) even worse. Ugh.

I can't imagine Madden 05 on a cell would be much like football, but I suppose that very recognizable name spells profit.

Actually I have a phone-ized version of techmo bowl on my phone and while it isn't the best game it does kill a few minutes sitting in a waiting room or waiting for a table for dinner...

EA signed an agreement with Verizon and SprintPCS.
Justin_McElroy: "Archon" was a blast!!
BabyJesus: You should go with Sprint. No gross overage charges, comparable coverage (if not better IMO), the best third party support for downloadable content, and always on the leading edge of technology. (Don't even try to say Bluetooth is leading edge tech. T-Mobile has an exclusive agreement with the Bluetooth group for full capabilities in their phones.)
