Can anyone get skip forward and reverse to work for them on file playback? Mine are always grayed out.

I've never had any issues with forward/reverse. I know for some saved films you download they disable a few of the film features.

Ill have to mess with it later, but mine would be me putting a sticky grenade right on Mr. Bibbz's ass while I'm still in midair from a jump platform. It was awesome.

Also, did anyone else know that you save the films from the theater and not form the stats menu after each game? Because I didn't and I was worried my copy was broken. Then, on a whim, I checked the theater out, and lucked out. Now that game is saved forever!!!

Man, I was hearing all the Halo 2.5 stuff on the graphics, but these shots look incredible. I read one of the reviews, that said it had better graphics than Gears. Hard to say, but Gears never had screen shots that looked this beautiful IMO with explosions and the lighting. Gears is good, but this is amazing. Can't wait to see it in motion. Tomorrow...

This is just one more reason, I get sick of all the posts getting too worked up over screen shots prior to any games release. Often the game looks much different in motion and/or at launch than it does with alpha and beta screen shots. From what I'm seeing Halo 3 has delivered the graphics.

I'm wondering if, during the screen shot taking, the game doesn't apply some post-processing. It just seems like the screen shot takes a while to snap...there has to be a reason for that.

It's probably partly due to the way the movies are stored and rendered. The size of saved movies is actually tiny because it's all saved as vectors.

It's probably partly due to the way the movies are stored and rendered. The size of saved movies is actually tiny because it's all saved as vectors.
Yeah, I understand that...they work like old QuakeWorld demos. I still think they are applying some AA to the scene as you snap a screen shot of it, though...well, some sort of filtering at least.

Don't get me wrong, the game looks great, but even on my 50" 1080p TV the game doesn't look quite as crisp as the screen shots I've taken.

I think it looks good (outdoors, indoors it looks a little bleh). There are some areas it shines (particle effects, lighting), but others it leaves a lot to be desired. I was expecting a lot more I guess.

Tell me about it. After failing with the Grav-lift, we tried core-jumping. When all was said and done, it took us about 50 minutes just to get that one skull.

The interesting thing about the screenshots is that they retain the aspect ratio you play on. If you're on a 4:3 TV, your shots are 4:3 and if you're on a 16:9 set your shots will be widescreen.

I'm surprised how many people are playing widescreen.
